@KennyMak I'm pretty sure that this video is geared towards people who do not know how to write a thesis statement in the first place, so giving all of these rules is probably a good idea until they really understand what they are doing.
You will need one working toilet, the urge to go sit on it , a pencil with lead and a piece of paper. Get comfortable and start pondering what interests you!

The thesis statement does NOT have to be at the end of the first paragraph. It can be placed anywhere in the first paragraph.
I've seen some formal essays that structure their essays so that the statement appears in the final paragraph.
