Well, that's the English dub anyway. I think it's close to one of the best dubs for an anime movie I've heard. Anyway, TekkonKinkreet is a beautiful movie and I hope you can watch it in it's entirety.

Earlier in the film when White is whining about how the apple tree hadn't even had any apples in it, Black tells him to have faith that the tree will grow - that it'll grow when he least expects it.

I think the escape aspect is important too - but you also see that in the sequence where you see Choco leaving town in the train with his mother.

for the modern generation of b-movies-watcher(like batman, war of the worlds, king kong, 300, eg.) it is difficult to understand.

if you like more than simple comics (there are pretty comics, of course. i think of enki bilal) or simple books (perhaps john brunner: the sheep look up) then you HAVE TO WATCH THIS GREAT MOVIE
