@87yandi Putting a net up wouldn't work. Jet engines draw in far more air than any net would be able to allow to pass through. Its easier to design the engine to survive eating a few seagulls or geese than let it potentially eat a net clogged up with birds. The birds would die during an 8 hour flight at 30000 ft and traveling 400+ mph.
