Thank you for raising awarenss and sharing memories of Isabelle. Before doing my research, I couldn't wait to put my 3 year old into a booster car seat. Now I realize how important it is to keep my babies in 5 point harness car seats as long as possible. I love them so much and would do anything to keep them safe. The video is very touching. Your little Angel is saving children's lives every day, I know it. Our family will help to raise awareness and never forget your beautiful Isabelle.
Your daughter is beautiful . Thank you for sharing her story with us. She obviously had a big purpose in life al be it a short one her purpose was to warn other of this fatal error that people make everyday and think is safe.
Hello - thank you for sharing your heartbreaking story. Thanks to you, I have purchased a Sunshine Kids Radian 80SL seat to be delivered to Australia (even though for some crazy reason they are not leagal here - our kids have to be in a seat belt or harness from 18kgs - which my son was at 2.5).
Thank you for this video. I was going to allow my son to graduate to a booster when he turned 4 (because he's almost 40 lbs). I will now make him stay in his 5 point harness until he is 5 years old. My prayers go out to you and your family.
So very sorry for your loss. Belle's a beautiful girl. My two year old will be rearfacing until he is 4 and then will continue to be harnessed forward facing until the limits of his seat (65lbs). Im a bit of a carseat/safety nut so I hope you dont mind if I share this on my FB page.
"Thank you Belle. I just bought a seat with a harness limit of 55lbs.
wordbugger 3 years ago"
My son just turned 7 and he is still happily in his seat. When he asks for a seat like my 10 year old's booster, I remind him that race car drivers use belts like his. I know his time in it is limited, but I'll be happy to make it through the icy roads of winter with him a bit safer.
Thank You for this posting. You and 'belle made my decision for me. Jacob will be staying in his car seat. Thank You so much. Peace to you and to 'belle.
Sooo sorry for your loss. Very touching, I had to hold back tears. I have a 3yr old that I have been using a booster seat with for a year now and today because of your video I will be placing her in a 5 point harness. I probably should have known better since I have 5 kids but that doesn't mean anything when there are weight limits etc on the side of these restrants that say u can change to another type of seat. My Clare is 40lbs and 3yrs.......THANK YOU SO MUCH♥♥
I am so, so sorry for your loss. We still have out 2.5 year old rear-facing (and plan to do so till the max), and will keep her harnessed as long as we can. I am glad you are sharing your story, and getting the word out. You are doing a wonderful thing, thank you!
My dad and step mom refuse to put my 2 year old sister in a carseat, this started at 18 months.they only put her in when i am around.but dont attach the carseat to the car at all.also my dad is a very bad driver goes 50 in a 35 mph zone and weaves in and out.i bought her the car seat.not them me.the sister.i know they don't put her in at all because when anyone else tries to put her in she screams bloody murder.she doesnt with me because she knows she has no chance of not going in or coming out.
while i am sorry it took a loss of a child for some people to realize this, but it states in in 4 of the different car seats i have owned. maybe they do this in the newer ones out on the market now maybe they didn't before but now its in all of them that i have seen.i just recently upgraded to a britax b.c my son is just about 40 lbs, which was the max of the seat he was in. he is tall for his age, most people think he is 4... but i would still never think of putting him in a booster he is 2 1/2
just wanted to let you know that because of yours and Kyles Videos my 4 year old in still in a 5 point harness at 45 lbs. the carseats harness go till she is 65 lbs and I am going to keep my 4 month old daughter ERF till she is at least 2 or the weight of what ever convertibal carseat that we get her and then she will go in a carseat just like big sisters carseat that turnes into a high backed and backless booster to 100lbs.
@hotgirljen99 We have this one. We like it and it's comfortable (evidently) on road trips too - and will be keeping out 5 year old in it until he's 65 pounds.
My son is almost two years old, and I was thinking that when he was too big for his car seat, we would get him a booster. I now know not to do that! Thank you for not letting Belle's passing be for nothing.
My heart goes out to you and your family, what a terrible tragedy and what a beautiful little girl. Thanks for the information, I knew a little bit about belts but didn't know they could potentially injure a child. I also looked at the video about rear-facing seats and that's how I plan to keep my 9 month old baby until he is too tall. Again, I'm really sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry for your loss. Your story has really changed the way I think about carseat safety. I have my daughter Julia (10 months) in a Radian XTSL which will allow her to RF until 45 lbs and then FF in a 5 point harness until 80lbs. I have permanently posted this link to my Facebook page so everyone can see it. I also post it along with other carseat safety links every month to try and get the info out to as many people as possible. Thank you sweet Belle, Diane
your daughter was an angel, she was beautiful. My daughter is almost 7 and is still in a car seat because she is still only 35 lbs, sometimes i wish she was heavier so she can get into a booster, but I know now that it's not always the right way. God Bless you and your family <3

I came across this video researching whether of not my son can move off his booster seat to a normal seat/seatbelt. Although he's too big to benefit from a five-point harness now, as a result of this video I will fit a five-point harness to the booster seat when my daughter graduates from her forward-facing baby car seat. You've done a good thing by posting this video. Sorry for your loss.
Deeply sorry about your loosing beautiful Belle. Thank you so very much for posting this video and warning others about using booster seats age-appropariately. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your advice. God Bless and peace be with you.
it is now 1 1/2 years after I replaced my son's expired seat with a higher weight limit seat. He is now 6 1/2 and still happily and safely harnessed. Thank you Belle, that Billy is safer.

i was about to go out and buy a booster seat but looked online for the age/weight/height requirements, i luckily came across your video. now im gonna strap my little guy down in a car seat for as long as i possibly can.
Another BEAUTIFUL child lost in a tragic car accident. I cant beat to think of how you must have felt and are still feeling. Sending you love and strength for the future. Monica xx UK
Thank you for sharing your story. I am an officers wife and he also is a firefighter. I have a 5yo son and a 2yo daughter. I still have my son in a 5 point harness. I cannot bring myself to move him to a booster seat. Thank you so much for the story cause I know know that he will be in it for a while longer, my daughter too.
Your story touched my heart and I was one of those parents who put my 2 oldest in booster seats after seeing this and a couple others I went out and bought 3 graco nautilus carseats for my 6, 5, and 3 yr old. My youngest was 35lbs and couldnt be rear facing any longer. Ive been spreading the word about keeping little ones rearfacing as long as possible and keeping them in 5 pt harnesses as long as possible also!! Thank you so much and Im so sorry for your loss. God bless!
watching your video undoubtedly saved my son, Archers life in a high impact car collision we were recently involved in. after watching this, i switched to seat with a five point harness, having previously used a seat that utilized a shoulder belt. i am so sorry for your loss, and so grateful to you for bringing this subject to light. everyone with children would benefit from learning about Belle. rest in peace little one, even in death you continue to make a positive difference!
T I was going to get a highback booster but noticed that they are making some harness for up to 65 pounds, The price is so much more for the 5 points that go to 65 pounds I was trying to decide if it was really needed, ur story which was sooo sad and touching it made up my mind, thank you so much. We just purchased a 5 point that goes to 65 pounds call the nautilus 3in1. Thanks you again for sharing ur story, your family is saving many lives!!!
thank you for pointing this to me, I have ason of 3years old and we already made hem sit on a booster...I have just changed it before writing this. You probably save his life...thank you! Isabelle rest in peace.
I'm only twelve, so I don't know much on that subject, but you and Belle touched my heart forever. I wish I could do something to promote this video, so heartbreaking. I'm so sorry for your loss, and I hope you know she is watching from heaven. My daddy died when I was seven, and my uncle on christmas eve, and my nana, and my also 12 year old friend. I'm not a mother, but I know how you feel. Thank you for your life, Belle's life, and this vid. God bless you and your beautiful daughter and wife.
So heartbreaking. Thank you for your gift sweet little Belle. I pass this video on to everyone I know who prematurely put their child in a booster seat. You are saving lives little angel!
I am so sorry for ur loss. I wish I would have known about the britax car seats a year ago, when I bought my daughter a car seat, but its not a 5point its just uses a strap belt. Ur story is saving lives....
Thank you so much for this video. It convinced my hubs to spring for a top-of-the-line carseat for our baby--as I'm sure it has done to many other people. Your sweet babygirl's death was not in vain and may have saved many other kids' lives.
I am a firefighter and we install car seats at our station and I want to encourage anyone that uses a car seat to PLEASE get the right size seat for your child. This movie is a sobering reminder of what can happen when the wrong child seat is used for a child. I am deeply sorry for your loss, but applaud you for making something good come from a most horrific situation. You will be in my prayers and the prayers of my family.
Our legislation mandates the use of a booster at 40 pounds and up until the child reaches age 9, weigh 18 to 37 kg (40 to 81 lbs) and are less than 145 cm (4-foot-9-inches) tall. However, I use a booster that uses the adult belt for my 7-year-old daughter. Is this safe? It seems to me that if tragedies like this one can occur, maybe we need to rethink the designs of some of these 'safety' seats?
I'm so sorry by your loss. Thank you very much for using your pain to alert other parents. You're helping save other toddlers. My baby is in a 5 poits but as long as he grow up a little more I wold put him in a booster. Never knew this danger. Isabelle is an angel and she is helping other kids aroud the world.
I was just about to sell our Britax 5 point harness because it seemed so cumbersome for my 4 year old. I was looking online to see maybe how i could just use the shoulder strap, and found this. You and Isabelle saved a possible life. I also read a few moments ago that two children were hit by a semi in their minivan but they were in 5 point Britax harness and walked away unscathed. I am sorry for your loss and commend you for your bravery to make this video. *hugs* and thank you ever so.
i am in tears i am so sorry for your loss but i am 10000000000000 percent sure she is in heaven and waiting for the rest of her loving and adoring family to come and join her in the glory of the Lord God Bless You
i remeber when i was 8 and i was in an accident with me riding in the front seat, but other than that i am so sorry for what happened to her, i am in tears, god is protecting her in heaven.
its not just the age. people need to recognize the size of their children too. an undersized child should still be in even a booster alot longer as well. as well as an oversize child may be injured from the smaller seating not actually fitting them properly.
Thank you for going through the pain making this video must have caused to save the lives of other children, it's such a selfless and beautiful act. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter.
Thankyou for sharing with us and probably saving lives too, my son is nearly 4 and i am trying to find a seat that is legal in england cos the britax regent is not. I know of other children younger than this cos of their height that are already in boosters and will spread the word. Also I wonder why are racing drivers given more safety than our children? words cant say how i feel for your family, god bless.
What a beautiful and touching video. And what a sweet little princess. I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for educating all of us in this time of terrible tragedy. God bless.
I am the mother of a 15 month old baby girl and am researching a lot about carseats. I have learned so much about the importance of a 5 point harness from stories like yours. I'm so sorry you and your family had to suffer this loss of such a beautiful sweet girl, but thank you for being a shining light in my life to educate myself and others on the importance of child restraints.
Nearly all restraint systems in consumer vehicles and child seats are poorly designed and implemented. My three year old could easily sustain fatal injury from interaction with her car seat in a significant impact - there are modifications (mostly more adequate padding) that I could implement that would dramatically increase her safety. Single shoulder web (conventional seat belt) often inflicts significant injury on adult crash participants.
If we were serious about our safety we would implement harness system similar to that used in race cars (Ive seen a Ferrari F40 with much improved restraint system).
I'm sorry for your loss she was so beautiful and I cried so hard for the loss of her life and the fact that my almost five year old son has been in a booster seat for two years and Ive never known the dangers. I'm glad you posted your daughter's story so I will be sure to not put my 8month old into a booster seat until he is at least five. Thank you, God Bless Your Family.
I'm sorry for ur loss... I know how u feel I just lost my two and a half year old son and 46 year old father not even three weeks ago... my son was also in a booster seat... it was a head on collision and killed my baby on impact... my four year old in the big boy booster seat walked away with a broken arm and a concusion... i know how u feel and share my deepest sympathy...CAMA
I am so sorry you know our pain. I am so sorry that you now walk the road we walk. I hope that your comment will tell others of the importance of the best seating possible. 1 death is too many. So much loves.
I will surely hug my three year old daughter and one year old son a little tighter in the morning. Thank you for the warning in the midst of your grief.
I'm very sorry for your loss; I lost my mom almost two months ago now and she absolutely loved children, so I know my mom is protecting your precious daughter (she was absolutely beautiful, by the way)
I am sorry for your loss. You had no reasonable way of knowing. Thank you for sharing and saving lives.
The safest type of restraint is a 5 point belt. This goes for EVERYONE. Race car drivers use 5 point belts. After-market 5 point harnesses are readily available and are fairly easy to install.
All free people must also consider events like this when visiting the polls.
i live in the uk and harnessed seats only go up to 4 years of age but most kids i know have moved on to booster seats before then. there is only 1seat available in the uk which harnesses past 40 pounds but it is hugely expensive but i will be looking to get one for my son - even if it means importing one from the US.
I am so sorry for your loss!!! May God give you comfort and the knowledge that families can be together forever!!! You will see your sweet Isabelle again and you can be together forever. God has provided priesthood power, temples, and ordinances to make this a reality. We almost lost our sweet 2 year old Bridget when she fell out of an upstairs window 25 feet onto the concrete driveway. She suffered a severe basal skull fracture and almost died. She is fine now thank you for sharing Belle!
I am so sorry for your loss. I hope it gives you some comfort to know you ARE saving others from a tragedy like this. I moved my 3 1/2 yr old son into a high-back booster seat, simply because I didn't know any better. I'm happy to report that he is now in a Nautilus, and will remained in a 5pt harness for a few years to come. God BLESS you and your family. Belle is our angel.
I made a coment yesterday how i didnt know that this could happen like this...yesterday I bought my 4 year old a 5 point one and found one to buy soon that goes up to 65 lbs that i can affored...thank you..a car hit and ran us two months b4 our daughter turned 1 and thankfully we still had her facing the back and she was fine..didnt even cry....we were going 40 down that road when the suv pulled out in front of us to turn
The Graco Nautilus is a very nice seat FF extended harness seat, and very affordable ($120-$150). I'm not sure if you had looked at that or not. The Nautilus will last your dc up to when she's 13 and/or reaches 100 lbs (up to 65 lbs harnessed). We just bought one, it is very nice :) .
Continue keeping her rear facing in a convertible until she reaches the limit. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends rear facing to the limits! :)
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful little girl. I am so sorry for your loss but this gives me more reason to keep my girls in their harnesses longer.
i am so sorry i know how you are feeling and the things you are going through my son nicholas was killed in march of 05 how ever he was ran over by his own bus driver cuz she was not doing her job thank you for your bravery to post this video for i have posted it onmy mysoace and also sent to all my friends and family Justine Blackwell
I am so, so, so sorry. So sorry. I can tell by the lovely pictures that the time she had, and the time you had with her, though very brief, was incredibly wonderful. I am not a religious man at all, but after watching your profoundly touching tribute to your beautiful little daughter, I know that very close to you there is an angel named Belle.
I am so sorry for your loss. Belle was very beautiful. Now I know my answer about leaving my twin boys in a 5pt. harness. Thank you very much for sharing your story,
Im so sorry for your loss. it is so sad, i dont even know you, but the pics and music just made me cry... thanks for your warning and telling this story to the world. i cant believe that law. it is crazy. here(florida) if your child is under 60ibs no matter how old they are you have to have them in a car seat/booster. That is an outrage, did they do anything for your family???
im so sorry. i dont even know you and this video made me cry.thank you for the warning.i cant believe the law in australia, in america even if your child is 9 if it weighs under 60 ibs you have to have a booster.
thank you for making this video. i cant imagine your pain, and i never want to. i hope you know how much it means to me even though i dont know you, for sharing your story with us. i will keep my son in a harness carseat as long as possible, thank you. i am so so sorry, they are both such beautiful girls
I cannot tell you how much it means to a stranger on the other side of the world that you took the time to make such a beautiful message to educate those of us who have not had to experience the unimaginable loss you did. I was searching to buy a booster for my son; I had him in a booster temporarily and just put him back in his 5 pt harness. Now he weighs more and I cry thinking what could have been if I had left him there...your daughter is gorgeous and clearly had so much love. Bless YouALL
I was searching on google about booster seat weight restrictions and came across this video. My daughter is 3 and a half and out of convenience I was thinking of putting her in a booster. Thank you so much for sharing your video, I am sure it has saved lives.
what can we say except THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart xx belle was truly beautiful and is now a truly beautiful angel watching over all her brothers and sisters throughout the world. she has certainly touched my little girls life I watched this and went and bought a 5 point harness seat before collecting my daughter from nursery this morning. Stay strong and god bless you love ali xxx (UK)
Your story has absolutly changed my life. After watching this and reading Belle's website I have now taken my 4 yr old daughter out of her crappy foam booster seat with just an adult belt and put her in a maxi rider II.Every morning I strap her in I think of Belle and it's my mission to inform everyone I know of Belle's sory and how important it is to restrain your child properly.Belle would be so proud of her Mum and Dad and how many lives they have changed.Thank you and bless you!
I am heart broken for your loss. I was blessed to have a friend who is a carseat tech & educated me before my son was born. I had my son rear facing til he was 18 months when he was too tall for his seat rear facing. He just turned 7 on 3/21/08 and will be in his Britax Husky, a 5 point harness for atleast 1 more year. It is sad that ONLY Britax makes a life saving 5 point carseat for children over 45 pounds. I wish more companies would follow Britax example. Many prayers to your family.
Was true for years that it was just SK Radian, Recaro, and Britax but the other companies are catching up! Look at the Evenflo Triumph Advance, Cosco Apex, Graco Nautilus, Compass TrueFit, SafeGuard Go and harnesses.
As a mom, CPST, and peds RN, I'm thrilled to be seeing some of these seats in every baby department.
This video will save many lives along with the KDM video. I hope parents start to become more educated and learn from your little daughter's story. Thanks so much for this video!
My condolences on the loss of your beautiful Belle. Because of your video (and others I've seen today), I am buying my 3 year old a Britax Regent instead of the current booster seat she uses. It breaks my heart to know that your baby and others have died because you were not informed. Thank you for informing us.
My son is 5 in May and 40 pounds. Here in Holland they put kids in boosters from 3 yrs on but I know a handful who use them at age 2 even! My son outgrew his toddler 5 pt harness seat so we did a booster... I hope it's safe for him.
I can't begin to tell you how deeply sorry I am for your loss. I too lost a child, different way and age, but I know all to well the sorrow and pain you are experiencing. This video was sent to me by my daughter, she wanted to make sure that her and I were on the same page when it comes to protecting her children/my grandbabies. It was found while reseaching car & booster seats. We've passed this on to EVERYONE we know. I hope the world will learn from your experience.
BLESSSSSS YOU! im sorrry you had to go through this. Thanks for helping other people learn how to save their children. BLEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS YOU!
I rarely cry, but I'm holding back tears right now. This video broke my heart... I know that nothing I can say will make your loss any less difficult, but I'm truly sorry that your beautiful little girl was taken from you so early.
I commend you for having the courage to post this and share your story with everyone. Thank you for passing on information that could very well save a life.
I am sorry for your loss. Our state law for car seats (including boosters) is 8 years or 80 pounds. My 11 year old is finally out of his booster, but his 9 year old brother is still in one. Another important thing we have done is use a luggage strap to attach his booster to his seat so that it won't go flying and hit someone else when nobody is sitting there.
I am sure that you have kept many children safe by sharing your story.
So sorry for your loss.I believe your story will make many change their car seats.Thankyou for warning others about this.I am going to switch to the 5 point harnesses today before going anywhere.
Your video made me cry - we rely too much on trusting that if it is available in australia and therefore has passed our safety standards that we do not need to question it - obviously we do - you have probably saved many young lives and many families from finding this out in such devastating circumstances as you - my prayers are with you and your family.
Thank you for this. I came upon this while researching info on car seats. Our 3 1/2 year-old is too tall for her car seat. the saleswoman at the store today steered me toward a "regular" booster, as our Emily is within the weight requirement. If it wasn't for seeing this video a few days ago, I would have been inclined to buy it. We are keeping her in a 5-point harness for as long as possible. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful little girl. Thank you for this gift.
I cried for you when I watched this video..but a BIG heartfelt thanks as I have a 3 yr old who is big looks like hes five It was almost impossible to find a 5 point harness to fit him I found one just the other day at Target stores the brand is Cosco...Thank God I didnt buy a booster...Your story will save many!! God Bless You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My daughter is almost 4 but I would not take her out of her seat even at her age.
When I do put her in a booster,u can get now a 5point harness that is used4boosters.
I heard on tv not long ago that they want (or have?)bought in a new law stating that a child must be in a 5pt harness up until 6yrs old. (not 100% certain on details like just in NSW or what) I was thinkn though. If the seat belt the seat is tied down2fails &only the anchor point is there what happens then?Does the seat fling up?
Thank you for sharing this with us. Because of your story, I am going outside and putting the 5 point harness car seat back into the car and putting the booster away until my daughter is much older. She is almost 3 and I thought that it would be ok, because that's what the law says...Thank you for your story...if not for this video...I would have left her in the booster and thought nothing of it.
Thank you for this video. I have already called my mom, my sister and the parents of all my daycare kids to share this info with them. Thanks again and God bless you and your family.
I am deeply saddend by your story. God bless you and your family. Thank you for sharing the story of Belle and giving us the opportunity to learn from this. Today I am going to replace my 5 year olds booster back to a 5 point harness and I will take your advice keeping my almost 3 year old in one as long as possible. Thank you and God Bless you.
Isabelle looks soo sweet. So sorry for your loss. If we know harnesses save lives for children under 5 years this should be the law.I will never forget this powerful video. As a nurse I will research this topic and spread this critical information. Thank-you for your gift Belle.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was researching boosters for my 3 year old so I could move my infant to her current carseat but now I'm just going to buy him his own and keep her in hers as long as I can! I'm so sorry for your loss, thank you for educating others.
Australia must not have the best government (well, then again.. U.S isn't such a hot shot either.
However, in the U.S.(which I hope you can move to)laws are.. atleast 8 years old, I think it was(or even older, usually parent decision), and they could use the normal adult seat belts
OMG! I can hardly see through the tears on my eyes to type this. I can't imagine losing my daughter, yours was so beautiful. I lost my 3 year old sister in an accident in our backyard swimming pool. oh my this is horrible I just want to hug you really. I think this youtube post will touch a lot of parents i know it has me. My love goes to you and your family.
I want to thank you for this video. I had no clue my was (2 and a half) was not supposed to be seat belted this way until I had his picture on a mommy board and one of the mothers sent me this link. I am going to remove him from the carseat and put him in a correct one very immediately! Thank you Belle for your gift of safety!
what a beatifull little girl, i am soo sorry for your loss - thankyou for spending time making this vid it certainly makes ppl re-think as all the laws, safety standards etc say a booster and adult belt is safe when OBVIOUSLY IT IS NOT!! again soo sorry for ur loss- my thoughts are with your family!! xx
I am so sorry for your loss.I pray God will bless you and your family each and every day. Thanks to you and Kyle Millers mommy I am doing everything I can to get my kids in 5 harness boosters right away.I always thought if my kids were buckled in seat belts they would be ok,I never imagined that this could and did happen.I am emailing your video to everybody I know and will continue to do so and help spread the word.God Bless.
Thank you for sharing your story. My 4 yr old little girl is secure in her new Britax Regent because of tireless educators like yourself. I am so sorry for your loss.
The booster seats we looked at have a min height of 38 inches and 30 pounds (our daugther excceds both 39 inches and 32 pounds but is only 3 yrs old) and I was online about to purchase one UNTIL my friend told me about this...Your site made up my mind to pay the xtra money & keep our daugther safe in a 5 point harness...THANK YOU THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart & God Bless you & your family for having the courage to put this on here.
Hi danielle I hope you are feeling better knowing this mostawful thing in which happened to u and hubby has not been vain and thankyou soooo much love and hugs to Angel princess Belle from jacob and sophie xxx
As I sit here going back and forth about putting my twin daughters in boosters I needed the reconfiming that they are NOT SAFE enough for them yet. I have seen this video before but everyone keeps telling us they are ready for boosters.
Again I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for making this video.
Thankyouso much dannielle..through your loss and pain and putting belle's gift onthe you tube there are many children who are imsure much saferin their cars now ...you arealways in my prayers and I am soplkeased you have got through to the powers that be god blessxx
I am sorry for your loss. However to blame government is ... well just not relevant. The government can't protect us from all harm or legislate everything. Should we all wear crash helmets & 5 point harness's? I think legal alcohol limit should be 0.00, but that ain't happening. Sorry for it's tragic loss; only the truck driver is to blame. You took reasonable care, and in her honor we'll warn other parents of this & save another child's life. In America there's many campaigns about this.
My 3 beautiful babies are tucked up safe in their beds now, but we will all be changing the car seat arrangements in our car tomorrow thanks to you. Baby back to rear-facing seat, 2 year old getting a new seat, 5 nearly 6 year old will def be getting a 5pt harness seat tomorrow. Your story is truely horrendous but so very brave, as my tears flow writing this I have one thing to say to you THANKYOU
I am so sorry you had to lose such a beautiful little girl, thank you for being so brave and sharing this story....I know what kind of seat to move my son into now
I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter. We had planned on moving our 3 year old to a booster as soon as it was practical, I thought it would be just as safe...our sons will now be in their car seats till they no longer fit. We have taken the information in your video and will pass it along to others. God bless you.
Know that her death was not in vain, i can positivly tell you, she has saved my childrens lives. All three of mine will be put into 5 point harnesses.
Im so sorry you had to lose the light and love of your life, it just isnt fair!
Your little girl is such a beauty and so special. You sharing her video will save countless children. I have three little ones and once I saw this video I put my oldest right back into her 5-point seat. She was not very happy with me but I would rather her be mad at me than not to ever see her again.
God bless you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss. She was a true blessing not only to you but to strangers alike. Thanks for sharing her precious life with us.
i am truly sorry for your loss. i cant begin to imagin how it would feel. and i just want to say how much i apreciate u sharing this information. my girlfriend and i plan on starting as family this year and things like what you have just shared with me are so important to know. your little girl was so beautiful. thank you again for sharing this with me.
I am so sorry for your loss. I saw your story on the Today show and it taught me something. I will now make sure my daughter wears a five point harness as long as possible. Thank you for sharing your story.
I have a 4 and a half year old in a booster but because of her size I am going to go out any buy another carseat with a 5 point harness because of your story.
I am so so sorry for your loss. I have a 20 month old daughter myself who I am determined will be staying in a 5 point harness for as long as possible. Your daughter did not die in vain - this video, I'm sure, has probably already prevented many tragedies from happening. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Thank you to bith of you for educating Australia. I am a nurse at the Royal Childrens's Hospital in Melb and have seen similar tragedies. I get so frustrated when I see young kids incorrectly restrained. I would love to help you with your cause. Thinking of you lots
i cant imagine the pain u are goin through i feel so bad and wish i could help u.u are very lucky cause u were blessed witha gorguse princess like that and i am sure she was a dream to have as a child.if there is anything i can do plz let me know
This breaks my heart because I have just recently gone throught the same thing. I lost my son in a car accident as well...last June. He was 9 years old. He always wears a seat belt but that day, he did not. My 4 year old, in just an adult seat belt, survived with a concussion. We do not hesitate to put our seat belts on now and we have invested in a safer car seat. I am so sorry for your loss as I am sure that it is still very painful. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
God Bless you for this video. I will always think of you daughter when i buckle my kids in. Both of my children are now in a 5 point harness. My 3 year old daughter was in a booster untill i saw this video. Thank you!!!
Isabelle was very cute...I am sorry for your loss. I have a Four year old daughter who is the light of our lives. May god carry you. I admire your strength in sharing this tragety with my family, and we will not forget Isabelle, or her lesson. from our hearts, The Rozel Family.
She was so beautiful..there are no words for your loss..I can't begin to comprehend your pain..I hope you can take some small comfort in the solace that perhaps your message has saved a small life. I am in tears watching your lovely daughter...I am SO sorry for your terrible loss. Please accept our deepest sympathies from Hillsboro, Oregon in the USA.
let me start by saying i am deeply sorry for your great loss. I am a 22 year old strong male and 2 watch your brave informative film made me tear up for the first time in years. your daughter has left a massave legacy which every australian should remember! next time i buckle my little nephew in i will remember...
thanks danielle and our Angel Belle, Sophie4 and Jacob7 poppy just bought 2new harness's for his car so we only have one more car to buy for and we are safer xxx
I know the 1 year anniversary is coming up for you and your family and i want to let you know that you all will be in my thoughts....my daughter is 6 yo and i have purchased a harness for her ..I am taking no chances..you are all deep within my prayers ..Please Take Care and GOD BLESS ..xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thank you for this beautiful video. I recieved my Radian 65 today which will keep my child harnessed until 65lbs. If not for Belle and Kyle (David Miller) I never would have known. She was beautiful and must make a great angel for her family and those who've seen this video.

My son just turned 7 and he is still happily in his seat. When he asks for a seat like my 10 year old's booster, I remind him that race car drivers use belts like his. I know his time in it is limited, but I'll be happy to make it through the icy roads of winter with him a bit safer.
thank you again, Belle.

Awful. So sorry for your huge loss.

Sorry for your loss.

watching your video undoubtedly saved my son, Archers life in a high impact car collision we were recently involved in. after watching this, i switched to seat with a five point harness, having previously used a seat that utilized a shoulder belt. i am so sorry for your loss, and so grateful to you for bringing this subject to light. everyone with children would benefit from learning about Belle. rest in peace little one, even in death you continue to make a positive difference!

I was just about to sell our Britax 5 point harness because it seemed so cumbersome for my 4 year old. I was looking online to see maybe how i could just use the shoulder strap, and found this. You and Isabelle saved a possible life. I also read a few moments ago that two children were hit by a semi in their minivan but they were in 5 point Britax harness and walked away unscathed. I am sorry for your loss and commend you for your bravery to make this video. *hugs* and thank you ever so.

its not just the age. people need to recognize the size of their children too. an undersized child should still be in even a booster alot longer as well. as well as an oversize child may be injured from the smaller seating not actually fitting them properly.

MrsEngland 3 years ago
Nearly all restraint systems in consumer vehicles and child seats are poorly designed and implemented. My three year old could easily sustain fatal injury from interaction with her car seat in a significant impact - there are modifications (mostly more adequate padding) that I could implement that would dramatically increase her safety. Single shoulder web (conventional seat belt) often inflicts significant injury on adult crash participants.
tubeneophyte 3 years ago
If we were serious about our safety we would implement harness system similar to that used in race cars (Ive seen a Ferrari F40 with much improved restraint system).

DawnM71 3 years ago
Was true for years that it was just SK Radian, Recaro, and Britax but the other companies are catching up! Look at the Evenflo Triumph Advance, Cosco Apex, Graco Nautilus, Compass TrueFit, SafeGuard Go and harnesses.
As a mom, CPST, and peds RN, I'm thrilled to be seeing some of these seats in every baby department.
Thank-you for sharing Belle's story with us.

God Bless you!

Your video made me cry - we rely too much on trusting that if it is available in australia and therefore has passed our safety standards that we do not need to question it - obviously we do - you have probably saved many young lives and many families from finding this out in such devastating circumstances as you - my prayers are with you and your family.
ellacarole 4 years ago

My 19 month old is my life. The only person that wouldn't understand that is someone that does not yet have children.
I am so sorry for your loss. And I assure you that her death will not be in vain, your story has convicted me to my soul.
May God give you the strength, and bless you and your family.

If the seat belt the seat is tied down2fails &only the anchor point is there what happens then?Does the seat fling up?
samchic86 4 years ago
Thank you for sharing this with us. Because of your story, I am going outside and putting the 5 point harness car seat back into the car and putting the booster away until my daughter is much older. She is almost 3 and I thought that it would be ok, because that's what the law says...Thank you for your story...if not for this video...I would have left her in the booster and thought nothing of it.

However, in the U.S.(which I hope you can move to)laws are.. atleast 8 years old, I think it was(or even older, usually parent decision), and they could use the normal adult seat belts
xcelloxcellox 4 years ago
The laws vary by state and while some require use to age 8; that is only for a booster, not a 5 point harness.
