What a bunch of stupid Nanny State losers. "give me give me give me..." I thought we lived in America where you provided for yourself...IF HAVING 88% OF YOUR HEALTHCARE AND 96% OF YOUR PENSION IS SOMEHOW SO BAD THAT YOU HAVE YO TAKE TO THE STREETS TO VOICE YOUR DISPLEASURE THEN MAYBE YOU SHOULD FIND ANOTHER JOB...FUCKNG SPOILED CUNTS!!!!!!!!!
@leftgibson why don't you clarify your meaningless percentages? Try getting pissed at someone who's actually a threat to your way of life, like your senators or the plutocrats.
@thundaleg Hey fucktard. These are not meaningless percentages. These people get better healthcare and retirement programs then their non union neighbors who are paying the bill.
Republicans-atleast most of them,- remind me of people who came to america to escape the tyranny of the oppressive ' English Monarchy ' or some other ' old world country monarchy ', but yet pledged allengence to them when they arrived here in the ' new world '-how twisted,-how retarded,-how moronic. It is like rolling back the forty hour work week and paid over-time for slave wages-how twisted,-how retarded,-how moronic!!!
Honk if you want to pay more taxes so that i can take long summers and retire comfy while you have to pay for your own retirement since i'm special. That is what there stupid unions are saying.
You dont like your pay or your work rules then f'n quit and find something else to do. Good teachers will find jobs in the private sector while the other can take a long walk off a short pier.
@nytech04 Maybe instead of bitching that somebody has a good job with reasonable benefits you should be fighting so you can have the same. Really you want to privatize everything? That's called corporate fascism, it's been tried in South America by our government and those people revolted and hate it. Maybe you should look into what you're calling for and look at history. Unions are made up of workers and Americans that want quality pay and dignity.
@HabitualHobosexual All non essential govt operations should be privatized and that includes the education system. Capitalism is what built this country and not unions. If you are good at what you do then you will get paid top dollar for your experience. If you suck, then you should be fired and not kept on the job because of seniority or simply because you are in the union.
All those teachers that faked called out sick should be canned and banned from all govt contracts in the future.
@nytech04 This isn't capitalism it's corporatism which leads to corporate fascism. I don't want a group that I can't vote in our out and I have no voice in to run vital systems like EDUCATION. All those teachers that protested are standing up for their human rights (yes collective bargaining is a human right). You are vilifying the wrong people. Maybe you should look at the actual laws that were broken by the WI GOP during this whole process.
@HabitualHobosexual The contracts said union can have collective bargaining for ever and ever? I highly doubt it, so all he is doing it saying that Gov who negotiates on the side of tax payers says you can no longer negotiate as a group on certain matters. Sort of like what most of the fed unions have with the fed govt.
You and your liberal pals apparently dont care about fed unions since then you have to take on your liberal politicians.
@nytech04 I would love to take on our "liberal" (more like democrats) politicians. I would love to take on Obama. Obama is almost as bad as conservatives on many issues. And Walker is voiding existing contracts. Employees, not just public employees should all be able to collectively bargain. He is also voiding those contracts without negotiations or talks with union reps. It's a unilateral move that goes against democracy.
@nytech04 THis is all about handing over all services to corporate interests. It's called Shock therapy for our economy. It has been experimented in South America by our government for awhile now. It's about privatizing EVERYTHING. THis is NOT capitalism! You want to end up like Bolivia where 1 American corporation was in control of the entire countries water supply? Same thing is being tried in MI right now. You think it's right for a Gov. to dissolve an entire city removing elected officials?
@nytech04 Step 1: Create a recession or emergency/or capitalize on emergency Step 2: find scapegoats Step 3:Use media to sway public opinion to attack targeted groups Step 4:Use emergency and scapegoats to pass laws and grant power people normally wouldn't allow Step 5: Replace public agencies with private corporations/consultants Step 6: Drive down wages, benefits, power of workers. Step 7: Monopolize sectors Step 8: Profit and control!
Honk if you Dont care how broke your state is...as long as the Special people get thier great state bennys and health care and pentions. Ill pick up another job so I can help pay for your Gravey Gig.
@ydnarnosfatsug Our state isn't that broke. hrrmmmm teachers are being asked to make up for $137million and Walker just gave $140million to companies who already don't pay taxes in this state. You try and be a teacher, then call it a gravey gig. You're attacking middle class workers intead of the greedy fucks that caused this problem.
@HabitualHobosexual No one is forcing people to be teachers and being a teacher is not your road to riches. If they dont like the pay, then they should quit and find something else to do.
Private business employ people and pay them based on their performance. Govt unions want to steal tax dollars to pay great teachers and those that suck the same amount. How is that fair?? Ban unions and let people stand on their own and those that are excellent can double their pay.
@nytech04 They are fine with their current pay and have already said they will make these concessions but want their rights and voice to collectively bargain. And the fact the GOV. took that out and passed it outside of the repair bill shows that collective bargaining is NOT a fiscal issue. Teachers don't steaL money, they get paid because they work. Unions are representative of the people.
@nytech04 SO you are saying the amount of time and money teachers spend to go to college, get licensed, and years of being a substitute to start off getting $23k a year and top out at $50k a year is unreasonable and that they are stealing? But the 62% of corporations not paying taxes and other corporations not even paying property tax while they rake in millions is ok? WoW you bought the GOP's bullshit hook line and sinker.
@HabitualHobosexual No one forced them to go into teaching!!! If they dont like the pay then do something else. As for your corps not paying taxes. I guess ss taxes and payroll taxes are nothing right? Businesses employ people and pay their salary from revenue streams from people buying their products by free will.
What is the revenue stream for govt to pay union salarys? TAXES which is confiscating % of my salary to pay people to work 9 months a year and get a full year salary
@nytech04 I never said they were forced into it!!!!!! The problem is assholes like you attacking them for making a living and saying their modest wages are breaking this country financially when that's not the case. You think a teacher's day ends when the bell rings? You know how hard it is to teach kids now days and the shit teachers have to put up with on a daily basis? You're attacking people who are not the cause of our problems in this country and it's wrong.
@nytech04 You call for banning unions. You are basically saying ban democracy and in place insert corporatism. People are confusing capitalism with corporatism, and thats a huge problem.
@HabitualHobosexual How is it fair for a group of employees to blackmail an employers whether its the govt aka tax payers or private sector business?? I negotiate my own salary with my employer. I am free to quit and go elsewhere if they dont meet my demand and they are free to fire me if they feel they can get a better deal with someone else. There is a middle ground that is met in most cases. What is the problem with that?
@nytech04 It's not blackmail. You think it's easy to call for a strike? You think it's wrong for workers to have a voice in the jobs that they do all the work?! EMployers are also free to fire you if you start to make top teir money at that workplace and replace you with new people. Employers are free to fire you if they don't like you. People deserve to have a say in one of the biggest parts of their lives. And unions brings an organized voice that sits and talks with their employers.
@HabitualHobosexual You honestly dont see anything wrong with someone in 'top teir' doing the same type of job as a new person and getting paid more simply because they were around longer? If my employer can hire someone to do my work at a cheaper rate then i am getting paid too much and should be fired!!!
Its my job to prove that they cannot hire someone with my experience at a cheaper rate without having a negative impact on the business.
@nytech04 You honestly don't see anything wrong with just because you get paid more you get fired because of that alone, even if you are doing a great job? Then being replaced by somebody new ONLY because they would be paid less......yes this happens and I've seen it happen multiple times.
@nytech04 I've seen in my place of work people getting let go even though the rest of us production folks knew that person was odoing a fantastic job, then they hire somebody else that had no experience to do that job which ended up having all of us spreading ourselves out and having to pick up the slack with no extra pay and doing things we weren't hired for.
@HabitualHobosexual Ditto i have picked up others work, but unlike you i show my worth and get more $ or as has happened before I get dollars allocated to hire an assistant. Win win. I get more money, i get to hire someone and pay them and the slackers who dont step up the plate are gone.
Picking up the slack is an opportunity to show you can do more either yourself or manage to get more help. I have gotten more work done with 2 organized assistants then a team of 10 used to do.
@nytech04 LoL yeah we picked up the slack and nobody got more money out of it. Now it's a new standard for our job. The next person to get fired, we'll have to do the same and not benefit from it. If I go demand a raise I end up on their shit list. If I quit there are no jobs to apply for and the ones that are available have 100 people applying for the same job. You act as if everyone but you that works for a living is lazy. We have the most productive workforce in the world when we have jobs.
@nytech04 Teachers have very little control over a childs willingness to learn. Example, when I was 15 I decided I didn't give a fuck about my homework or tests. I got D's and F's because I didn't participate. Looking back the majority of my teachers were amazing and tried to motivate me and cared about all of us, but it was my decision to not participate and I suffered the consequences by getting bad grades and not learning. They shouldn't be punished for my actions that year.
@HabitualHobosexual Im not ATTACKING anybody....but since you brought it up....Go find another job and quit your crying. Nobody asked you to be a teacher you chose it. I could never be a teacher because my ass would get to fat during my paid summer vacation. i like to stay Bizzy all year.
@ydnarnosfatsug I work for the private sector. And my "crying" is me trying to protect democracy and human rights.
