@HabitualHobosexual All non essential govt operations should be privatized and that includes the education system. Capitalism is what built this country and not unions. If you are good at what you do then you will get paid top dollar for your experience. If you suck, then you should be fired and not kept on the job because of seniority or simply because you are in the union.

All those teachers that faked called out sick should be canned and banned from all govt contracts in the future.

I highly doubt it, so all he is doing it saying that Gov who negotiates on the side of tax payers says you can no longer negotiate as a group on certain matters. Sort of like what most of the fed unions have with the fed govt.

And Walker is voiding existing contracts. Employees, not just public employees should all be able to collectively bargain. He is also voiding those contracts without negotiations or talks with union reps. It's a unilateral move that goes against democracy.

@HabitualHobosexual No one is forcing people to be teachers and being a teacher is not your road to riches. If they dont like the pay, then they should quit and find something else to do.

Private business employ people and pay them based on their performance. Govt unions want to steal tax dollars to pay great teachers and those that suck the same amount. How is that fair?? Ban unions and let people stand on their own and those that are excellent can double their pay.

And the fact the GOV. took that out and passed it outside of the repair bill shows that collective bargaining is NOT a fiscal issue. Teachers don't steaL money, they get paid because they work. Unions are representative of the people.

I guess ss taxes and payroll taxes are nothing right? Businesses employ people and pay their salary from revenue streams from people buying their products by free will.

What is the revenue stream for govt to pay union salarys? TAXES which is confiscating % of my salary to pay people to work 9 months a year and get a full year salary

I am free to quit and go elsewhere if they dont meet my demand and they are free to fire me if they feel they can get a better deal with someone else. There is a middle ground that is met in most cases. What is the problem with that?

EMployers are also free to fire you if you start to make top teir money at that workplace and replace you with new people. Employers are free to fire you if they don't like you. People deserve to have a say in one of the biggest parts of their lives. And unions brings an organized voice that sits and talks with their employers.

If my employer can hire someone to do my work at a cheaper rate then i am getting paid too much and should be fired!!!

Its my job to prove that they cannot hire someone with my experience at a cheaper rate without having a negative impact on the business.

@nytech04 I've seen in my place of work people getting let go even though the rest of us production folks knew that person was odoing a fantastic job, then they hire somebody else that had no experience to do that job which ended up having all of us spreading ourselves out and having to pick up the slack with no extra pay and doing things we weren't hired for.

@HabitualHobosexual Ditto i have picked up others work, but unlike you i show my worth and get more $ or as has happened before I get dollars allocated to hire an assistant.  Win win. I get more money, i get to hire someone and pay them and the slackers who dont step up the plate are gone.

Picking up the slack is an opportunity to show you can do more either yourself or manage to get more help. I have gotten more work done with 2 organized assistants then a team of 10 used to do.

@nytech04 LoL yeah we picked up the slack and nobody got more money out of it. Now it's a new standard for our job. The next person to get fired, we'll have to do the same and not benefit from it. If I go demand a raise I end up on their shit list. If I quit there are no jobs to apply for and the ones that are available have 100 people applying for the same job. You act as if everyone but you that works for a living is lazy. We have the most productive workforce in the world when we have jobs.

@nytech04 Teachers have very little control over a childs willingness to learn. Example, when I was 15 I decided I didn't give a fuck about my homework or tests. I got D's and F's because I didn't participate. Looking back the majority of my teachers were amazing and tried to motivate me and cared about all of us, but it was my decision to not participate and I suffered the consequences by getting bad grades and not learning. They shouldn't be punished for my actions that year.
