@danbo1984 I'll drink to that ! I read he was very derpressed during the period the film was shot. There are no clear signs of that in his acting, though.
It's not that he's a bad actor. It's just that I perceived Holmes as more of a "smart ass" and sarcastic fellow with an upbeat personality half of the time and a serious thinking but still kinder version the other. I also didn't picture him looking anything close to the actor in this film, so it kind of ruined it for me and I'll stick to my imaginary visions of the novella itself.
@evolism Really ? I think he performs extraordinarily, with special mention to the tinge of pomposity with he delivers his lines. What is your motive of grievance ?
That is NOT what I pictured the awesome Holmes to look like after reading all of the novellas!!
