  • If you get a chance, take a look at my vid, Jim Reeves: "Courtin' in the Rain" and Other Tomfollery.

  • Thank you for posting this. So beautiful. A refreshing trip into the past; when the songs and singers had a disciplined sound.

  • Two of American Music's warmest voices. Beautiful and mellow.

  • Good song. Written by Justin Tubb, I think.

  • Country music really makes me feel good...

  • The greatest singer of all time for me. I have always put music in two bins. The music i like and in the other the music i don't. Country, pop, middle of the road, i dont care.

If Jim sings it, i like.

  • You cannot play the Country Music without the steel guitar

  • This version has no shuffle and hardly any steel. Give me Justin Trevino and Pretty Miss Norma Jean singing it. This cut represents not the country side of the country/pop tension, but the pop side. Jim spent years taking the twang out. Twang is Good

  • Here's an idea, why don't they search for a couple of Dottie and Jim Reeves impersonators( like they did Patsy) and stick the two together,(or apart) how much fun would that be to watch, Jim and sing with Patsy too. Hard to believe this has yet to happen. They are All so much more talented than what you have today, Except, Martina Mcbride and Alan Jackson, these two makes these legends proud!

  • @TheHopecentral If Mary Reeves had lived l think there would have been many duets dubbed

  • @TheHopecentral Unfortunately there would'nt be a Dottie impersonater because her so called friends have not remembered her over the years, so sadly Dottie has slipped into a category of forgotton artists, so sad when you think of the things she did to help people over the years and then when her troubles started no one was there they all turned their backs.

  • Now that is real Country music and this is coming from a 17 year old!

  • The Greatest Singer of them all, who left us far to early.

  • Do you know where I could find the song " Little Ole You" by Jim Reeves? I would be most grateful if you can help. If not thank you for your time.

    Tracy

  • What a great song they dont make them like that anymore thank you for posting

  • Thanks for posting this great song

  • I have been reading several posts on the old style country music singers that a lot of us grew up with. I think I have to throw in with my contemporaries (baby boomers) who are of the opinion that the new style "country" music bears almost no resemblance to its roots. This song is a classic example of two incredible voices joined in a wonderful song where the background music is just that...background, not drown out.

  • Ik kreeg dit nummer eind 1964 cadeau van de plaatselijk cafetaria houder, omdat de plaat in de jukebox geen credits trok.

Ik heb het nummer in de loop der jaren wel grijs gedraaid.

    BEDANKT SUPPER

  • ...there is a great photo of Jim and Dottie on his Bear Family boxset booklet..

    taken in 63~64...!

  • Great song. Very good harmony.

  • ...they were planning an album together..and then jim was killed in a plane crash...!

  • Now this is COUNTRY music.. Thanks Flashbell.

  • a voice like spring water so crystal clear and pure i could go on and on. we still miss you jim.

  • one of my all time favorite's , too bad they don't sing country like that anymore

  • Perfection. Many years ago my wife and I sang this song together at my brothers club house on his caravan park in Scotland, the caravaners loved it .I must admit they love C&W in Scotland.and Jim Reeves in particular. Thanks flashbell.

  • What an incredible sound. Country music that makes the hairs on the back of your neck bristle. Goodness knows were is the simplicity and beauty in todays feeble attempts at country .

  • I borrowed an eight track tape from a friend 35 years ago entitled "Country Partners" and this song was on it along with "A Dear John Letter" by Bobby Bare and Skeeter Davis. I loved that tape but somehow it got away. Thank you for posting this and rekindling old memories.

  • Without a doubt, two of the most superb voices to sing any kind of music. They helped make Country Music eternal, and this particular number truly exemplifies the very best of Country in any age or time. Thanks so much, flash.

  • THEY WERE MAGICAL TOGETHER!!!

  • fabulou

  • many thanks. you give a lot of pleasure to a lot of people by sharing this. a great duet.

  • many thanks for listing.one of the best duets ever.

  • Two of the best country singers ever.

May they both rest in peace.

  • The version I like best is from the "cute-n-country" album by Connie Smith.

  • It's impossible not to love this song, wether you like country music or not, anyone says thet don't like Jim Reeves and Dottie would be lying. Thankyou for posting.

  • thanks for posting lovely .

  • They also Recorded 'Look Who's Talking'.

  • Amazing voices. I love Jim Reeves--something in his voice that melts the cruellest heart.

  • Thanks for submitting this, my father loves this song!

  • a perfect duet, like this song alot thanks for putting on here

  • I am trying to find better pictures of both of these great legends of original country music. I have found a nice one on Dottie, however keep in minf Jim Reeves dies 44 ago, so his photos are scarce just like his music. Thanks.

  • I first heard the voice of Jim Reeves's amazing, it pours from the inside as pure silver creek warm, sparkling in the sun all 7 rainbow colors! I have here is such an association! Thanks!

  • Sorry, but the word "geweldig" translates as terrible (vreselijk)). You do not understand a true american lady. Take a commente english.

  • Grew up listening to my folks' Jim Reeves music - loved it all! Didn't think Dottie could sound good with anyone other than Kenny Rogers - but this is a lovely duet. They sound fantastic together. Have never heard this and have enjoyed it. Thanks for posting!
