Sorry, the wrong way. Would just mean the you can't monitor the temp but still get the same result?

Should have kept the needle valve.

The ball valve is not accurate enough & constantly needs attempts at a bit more or a bit less

I have no problems at all with the needle valve. Infact I find it a peice of cake to control.
