just watched this video for the 971-973rd time. i was born in bloomington and was a freshman at iu when they made that run to the championship game in 2002. this brings a tear to my eye every time. it doesnt matter what anyone says, this was a great game all around with one of the most electric atmospheres ever (i could feel it through the tv, eventhough i didnt have the balls to actually watch the last five minutes).
That was the best game in MY life. When we had 5.6 seconds left, I shouted out to the people at my house (we were having a party) "Omg..We are obviously going to lose.....i can't watch." Then my dad said, "Sweetie! YOU ARE WATCHING! This could be the best game in your life. You could remember this moment forever!"

Complaining about rushing the court? Unranked team beats the (former) #1 team in the COUNTRY...not to mention at the buzzer. If it was the other way around, UK fans would have done the same thing, and don't even try to tell me you wouldn't, especially in the circumstances of turning around a program. Rushing the court is pretty much a given at that point.
@aceace14 my family's season tickets are right behind the IU bench. Crean and 2 of the assistant coaches were recruiting hard before the start of the game, came behind the bench and were talking to the group of recruits (of which there were at least 5 or 6 sitting next to us). The kids all had their phones out recording the crazy atmosphere at the start of the game just in awe of the place. If this game doesn't convince those kids to come play for IU, I'm not sure anything will.
@Mhelm000 they missed their first 3 or 4 of the game too. Doesn't surprise me though considering they're all freshmen and sophomores and had that craziness behind the basket to distract them.

Coach Cal said in a post game interview they got outplayed despite playing to their game plan "to a T". 2) That 3 was not lucky at all. IU is one of the best shooting teams in the country. @deeznutz1902 Actually Indiana did basically dominate Ky vs the the other teams they played, no team has lead Ky by 10 and IU did it twice. They shut down their all american, kept the defense tough and beat them, all while putting up the lowest numbers of the year. sounds like your a typical UK fan though, so go on and continue to whine and cry. We got the W and it was nice but now were lookin towards next week,

@deeznutz1902 1) IU was up almost the ENTIRE 2nd half, and KY had no answer. They flat-out outplayed UK the majority of the game. Coach Cal said in a post game interview they got outplayed despite playing to their game plan "to a T". 2) That 3 was not lucky at all. IU is one of the best shooting teams in the country. A wide open 3 is hardly "lucky." 3) The game should never have even come down to that. IU started jacking up quick shots in the last few minutes and let UK come back. #YOULOSE

What a wonderful part of the college experience to have a game like this, to be so excited you rush the floor! These kids will NEVER forget this game! Hell, I won't forget it & I watched on TV!! Its not a Unbelievable win. IU has a great team and everyone new that going into the game. I understand this is a awesome win for the program but its not a National Title. The hoosiers are capable of beating anyone and their fans should believe that instead of being for shocked they beat a great team.

IU fans were relieved to get a win of this type that has been long overdue. it has been a long time coming for IU to be back on the map in college basketball and recognized as one of the top programs in the country and thats why IU fans celebrated not because they were shocked.

IU men’s basketball Coach Tom Crean committed a secondary recruiting violation Oct. 6 while contacting a prospective student athlete, according to the IU Athletics Department.
The contact availability with recruits ended Oct. 5, but Crean had contact with a high school senior the following day.
In the release, IU will reduce the number of recruiting days in person by two days to 128 days.

@hardrocker1 KENTUCKY FOOTBALL has an absolutely awful tradition and beat Tennessee for the first time since 1984 with a WR at Quarterback. INDIANA BASKETBALL has 5 National Titles and is considered one of the best programs of all time. To even COMPARE Kentucky football to Indiana basketball is a disgrace to IU and their program. You can storm they field when you end a 27 game losing streak, not when you are a top program like IU.

@aceman509 ...IU won a combined 8 games in the Big 10 in the past 3 years. Their overall record has been below .400 since Sampson was fired, and barely got to 10 wins in each of the past 2 seasons. When a program with such a rich tradition goes through years as tough as that, guys get pretty excited when they get going in the right direction again. There was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG with IU storming the court. The fact that you could even begin to think otherwise makes you a fucking retard.
