  • I happened on Freeman Alley last night and was struck with it's "Gangs of New York" nineteenth century feel[tread if you dare back then as it looked like a perfectly situated ambush point!] But last night, it took on a less sinister feel as there was a very hip eatery/bar at the end of the graffitti littered alley["angry fembots" was my fave mural]and a clear path with no obstructions.

  • I happened upon...

  • I used to play in this alley in the mid 1960's There was no name for it at the time. however, from viewing it, still many parts of the alley remain intact. It was an Puerto Rican neighborhood at the time. I use to know all the families that lived in that block. Thanks for posting it, it brought back some good ole memories!!!!

  • avenue A you might survive, Rivington you'll fin-ally die in cold blood

  • Hah me and my friend smoked a nice joint in this exact location. There is a little tobacco store on the corner two blocks away that sold really cheap pipes. Awesome.

  • I have lived in this alley , it was one of the best parts of my life in NYC
