  • SOUND Y U NO COME FROM RIGHT SPEAKER?!!

  • @zromask grammer something much you need learn

  • THIS IS WHY SCIENCE IS SO COOL!!!! SO TRUE!!! :))) :D GOOD JOB BRO!!

  • @nekif820 glad to hear you enjoied it :D

  • Screw the hater bro. keep up the good work.

  • @bbmetal16 I dont pay any attention to them anyways, its all part of the job. There plenty of awesome youtubers like yourself that keep me making this videos :D

  • Thanks 4 the help!!

  • @oscarineji you are most definetly welcome :D

  • for a second there I thought it was Christian Bale...

  • @kji198045 Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :D

  • I applaud your effort here, but ...

The center of the galaxy, as seen in the photo you showed, is south of the celestial equator (by almost 30 degrees) -- it can *never* appear in the northeastern sky. Even if it could, it would only appear in the northeastern sky on certain nights at certain times of the year.

BTW, not being Bill Nye is a *good* thing -- I am occasionally appalled at how much stuff he gets completely wrong.

  • @pseudorandomly I didnt say you would find the center of our galaxcy I said if you want to find the milky way in the night sky you would find it in the northeastern sky. Trust me if I get something wrong I correct it with annotations but I have not found anything wrong in the video based on what you told me. That being said if you dont like the content of the videos, theres an "X" at the top of yoru browser that will close the internet (sorta) and several videos options that will take you away.

  • ur not bill nye...

  • @PhilVlogable Whhhhhut im not bill nye??? No wayyyyyyy!!!

  • wait what? my dumb brain cant picture how i can be in milky way and see it.

  • @mummafier go back and explanation I explain it there

  • @mummafier because we are on the edge of it, and its huge.....

  • this guy is actually funny haha

  • @SchuperNaturalistic why thank you :D

  • @Socoolscienceshow the part were u were finding the north pole haha, and you are kinda like bill nye i guess eh

  • @SchuperNaturalistic Haha yeah thats one of my favorite parts :D

  • @SchuperNaturalistic ...and cute :)

  • @pk33617 thanks

  • Cool milky way

  • @lmenchaca0709 it is pretty interesting isnt it :D

  • lol

  • stop trying so hard

  • @mrUMMbongo stop trolling so hard : /

  • DSLR cams are just too expensive :/

  • @jamn610 yeah they are extreamly expensive : /

  • ... bill nye much? lol

  • @StarcoGAMES bill who???

  • To Socoolscienceshow: Why do they call Suns stars?

  • @67bandit67 All stars weather they have planets going around them or not are still stars.

  • im back. lets start simple. what is light, what kinds of light are there, and what the basic structure of these lights are, and then how it applies to humans. then it would be nice to talk about are history and who is involved. and then the current state of light that concerns us.

  • @teamkawryan What is light? Light is a wave of energy. What kinds of light is there? It depends on the energy level of the atoms that are producing the energy. What is the basic structure of light? Light is energy, its not really made of anything ecsept photons. There are two categories whne we talk about stuff that makes up our universe. Matter which is stuff made of atoms, and then theres energy, which is how much activity atoms or groups of atoms have.

  • im back. lets start simple. what is light, what kinds of light are there, and what the basic structure of these lights are, and then how it applies to humans. then it would be nice to talk about are history and who is involved. and then the current state of light that concerns us.

  • haha you funny

  • @joikbenik thanks Im glad I could share a laugh with you :D

  • haha you funny :)

  • i've looked in the northeast sky an i've never seen anything that bright

  • @creamyfilling102 You have to be in a very dark place to see this. Lights will dilute the light coming from the milky way and you wont see it.

  • @Socoolscienceshow

If I dont see the milky band of light, I should still see see more stars than usual on a moonless night sky if I am looking for the milky way, is that right?

  • @lford1970 thats right :D

  • @Socoolscienceshow

If I don't see the milky band of light, I should still see see more stars than usual on a moonless night sky if I am looking for the milky way, is that right?

  • I feel weird watching this at home and not in class where this video got it's 150,00 views.

  • @ToasterStuder acctualy this video didnt get most of its views in a classroom, most of the views came from homer viewers.

  • NOT BAD--- YOU COULD BE THE NEXT BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY !!!!--giggity

  • @2323giggity who else but quagmire :D no but seriously im glad you like it :D

  • @Socoolscienceshow quagmire rules--- how many more vids do you have --- keep up the information---GIGGITY

  • @2323giggity i have about 169 videos and I wont be doing a show this weeks bcuz im on Thanksgiving vacation at a friends house all week long. but hang in there I get back to doing shows in December :D

  • @2323giggity thats what i was thinking hahahahahah

  • This reminds me why Americans should never be allowed to present documentaries. They thinks its all about them!

  • @Jrider72 1) this is not a documentary, this is a "How To Video" as in "how to find the milk way in the night sky". 2) A how to vidoe is ment to show people something. Its kinda hard t o show people how to do something with out having someone there to show them how to do it. This series of "HOW TO" vidoes has a host to present the information and to make informatoin more entertaining to watch and learn. Plus if it was all about me, you would see me in the explanation as well.

  • Comment removed

  • @ionvkch Im not really sure....

  • this guy is corny

  • @TheNameIsQuis Im frito corny :D

  • @Socoolscienceshow lol funny as well

  • @TheNameIsQuis thank you :D

  • hey um....what kinda cams can i use? i mean like can i use a 12MP digital camera? (: or should i only use a DSLR? O.o (:

  • @jamn610 Regular cameras wont pick up the milky way because they dont have enough expisure time and thier lens dont take in enoughtl ight to get a picture. The cameras they use to take pictures like this are extreamly expensive cameras with longer expisure times and a lens about 30cms across.

  • watching this for k12 XD

  • @MandyHeartShadow what do you mean???

  • @Socoolscienceshow My school is just called k12 :) We were watching this for a science class connect

  • @MandyHeartShadow Oh ok, Well Hi to Everyone In Your Class From Crazy Chris :D

  • @Socoolscienceshow I'll be sure to ^-^

  • the comments are just as fun to see as the video is XD

  • @uhlan30 thanks for your view

  • None sense video

  • @regretwesum i think you mean non-sence XD if your going to insult a video please be more intellegent the video itself.

  • Can you actually see THAT with the naked eye???? I mean, so much detail. I can see like a brighter "stream of light" across the sky from my house, but if I go to the countryside, will I be able to see the galaxy center as in this and many other photographs???? Or you can only see that by exposing a camera long enough????

  • @santy300 You sure can see it that clear how-ever you need a really dark place, and the best time to see the milky way that clear is after midnight in the summer months, and before midnight during the winter months. Of coarse if you are in the southern hempesphere such as Austraillia you would reverse what I said. Its true you can see the milky way all year round but if you want a really good clear look at it, after midnight in the summer, before midnight in the winter.

  • @Socoolscienceshow Thanks man!!!

I live in South America (Argentina). So you mean I would be able to see it this well before midnight during the summer and after midnight during winter????

Thanks for the reply man, I've been asking this in many videos and nobody bothered replying. Or nobody knew the answer!!!

    Cheers!!

  • @santy300 I tell ya what, plan to go out to a dark place, on Feb 5 2012 at Midnight and look up towards the NW sky and you should be able to see the milky way pretty clear.

  • @Socoolscienceshow Thanks man. I will. Cheers

  • For viewing the milky way you will need this:

    -Very Very Dark Place

    -And Thats All!

Actually the eyes Exposure will be brighter in the light the eyes (Black) point will be smaller BUT! in the Darkness the black point of the eyes exposure will see dark things and be bigger

  • @jack342able the stars above will provide enough light for you to see the milky way and thats more important then seeing the trees and your surroudnings, especially if your trying to see the milky way.

  • The sky is to light polluted here so I can't see the galaxy. :(

  • @niburu2012 that really sux :( perhaps you can find a place where the light doesnt block out the milky way :)

  • @Socoolscienceshow I went out nearby last week, and between the villages/small cities in farmland/woodland area's you can see a very very vague glow in the sky which actually is the milky way! It took a picture but the whole sky looks yellow (=light pollution) with still a very vague milky way.

  • The Earth is actually in the Milky Way so therefore there IS milk in the Milky Way.

  • @jbearden Thats right, You sure are smart, you know with me and you and and science too, we can do anything that we wanna do.

  • cool learned something(i think) more for kids i think.

  • @jarrodshipard its for a general audience :)

  • what video is i'm watching now , fool

  • @malaysiaproduction you is watching the galaxcy fronm earth video foo...

  • what made me laugh on the telescope joke was that he thought he was funny and kept laughing

  • @uzuteen I aim to make people laugh

  • @Socoolscienceshow the joke its self wasn't even bad but u continuosly laughing is what made me laugh so u did succeed in making me laugh thats for sure and thanx for showing my how the galaxy looks and can u tell me where you were looking at the galaxy from cuz i wana go there to see it for myself

(reason i watched this video was because in class we were talking about the milkyway galaxy, now were talking about the types of stars, protostar, mainsequence, redgiant, bluegiant, whitedwarf, reddwarf

  • @uzuteen I was on a sound stage when this was filmd, behind the fake trees there was a giant blue screen, and the galaxcy you see was edited in to cover the blue screen. But any dark place on earth such as a forrests or camp gruonds or any cleared dark area will be perfect for viewing the milkyway galaxy :D

  • @Socoolscienceshow ok thanks

  • @uzuteen your welcome :D

  • @socoolscienceshow "troll hating" I like the term. Puts a new twist on the overused "troll comment".

    ..

But we will NOT use a term like "Chuck Norris" hating .Nope.

  • @FreeBlago1 Big no on the chuck noris hating :D

  • can you really see this frome earth

  • @xerke Yup if its dark enough and the earth is in a good spot for viewing it you sure can :)

  • The reason I came across this video is to find out what the Milky Way was after watching the Nightly News on NBC which commented on the Milky Way. I actually forgot what was said on the news but I still wanted to educate myself on the Milky Way so that I will understand what it is in the future. Damn, I hate when I forget why I searched for something! Anyway, now I'm in the know about the Milky Way in case it comes up in the news again. Thanks.

  • @vsromero32 You are most definetly welcome :D

  • meh, cool but wierd

  • @moontalon22 Thanks for watching.

  • HE IS COOL

  • @skaka2 thank you :D

  • I liked it...your explanation made the subject fun...keep up the good work!

  • @TREYCEMONE your most definetly welcome my friend, I promise as long as youtube is willing to pay for the socoolscienceshow that I will continue to make new sci files. In fact theres a new sci file 2marrow night, it was suppoed to be upload 2night but Im having problems with my computer.

  • a stupid video but funny

  • how come i cant dislike the video T_T just kidding~ nice vid :D but theres no like or dislike button? :O

  • i liked it......now hundreds of people will dislike this and replay badly about my oppinion just because i have my own oppinion

  • ???? okay, sorry to comment this but i usually don't comment stupid videos, but this is just one of the worst most frustrating stupid video ever :P sorry about the english :P i'm from norway :P does he have a girlfriend? hope not if she sees this it will be overt instant.

  • @Vapetzi oh im sure I could piont out a few worse videos then this

  • Cool AIDS!

  • Was this filmed in the early 90's?

  • @GTRrocker666 nope it was filmed 3 days before its upload date

  • Just look at orion's right arm or scorpio's tail and you got it!, It's not big'a deal finding the milky way :S

  • @coolbionicle yesh but if I said just look at orions belt that wouldnt fill 3.5 mins : /

  • @Socoolscienceshow LOL!, I guess ur right XD

  • fuck this bullshit

  • How about barred spiral galaxies

  • @paideguinha Those are acctually pretty neat galaxies. They would be classified under the spiral galaxy category. About 1/3 of all spiral galaxies are barred spiral galaxies :D

  • @nincompoop59 alright im glad you enjoied this sci file, I hope to be replying to your other comments under other sci files :D

  • This guy is awesome, I wish all my teachers were like this. Makes learning fun. Although, it doesn't take much to be interested in the universe, but when it comes to teaching this is how it's done (:

  • @b0sox04 Thank you very much, here I can be everyone teachers and all they have to do is log on type in and BAM Im your science teacher :D

  • @b0sox04 take out the swear word and replace your comment :)

  • Great video.

    Watch here galaxies in HD:

    /watch?v=s5Z71MUVMk0

  • very Bill Nyeish

  • fantastic explanation i'm clear with the Galaxy now with your suggestions!thank you for being helpful guy good bye never forget to upload more..

  • @sugam1 Astronamy is very interesting and dont worry I forget to upload more :D

  • file says: YOU ARE A MORON :)

  • this guy>bill nye

  • @SOyouTHINKurFUNNY Thank you Im glad you enjoy the sci files :D

  • someone do a rear naked choke on this chump

  • @Disposition446 Uh ohhhh sounds like some1s got some homosexual fantacies.... I dont mind gay people dude but my back door was never open for business.

  • @Socoolscienceshow and its spelled fantasies

  • hahaha the slow motion xD funny

  • @james65508 XD

  • I cant see any off this because of light polution it sucks.

  • @TakeThemickeyMan you'll have to find a park or a patch of woods with a skylight between the trees :D

  • Awesome video, really interesting info given in a refreshing humorous way. Love it and great to watch and learn. Thanks so much for this creation, and share :))!

  • @gisltome Thansk very much Im happy that I can share with you not only education but a laugh as well :D

  • I see milky way every night...I have a telescope(114/900 EQ1 Newtonian) and i pointed at milky way,i saw many ,many stars. When i do not point in milky way,i see less stars.

  • @SinishaTheScoper if I had a telescope I would point it towards the milkyway as well :D

  • We should have a Milk Day! wait we have that already?

  • @Gretaolala Haha you know what I acctually looked that up and there really is a milk day. Google it :D

  • dang it, now i want to play spore :(

  • @why1050 Haha yeah I could see how would want to do that now :D

  • There is milk in the milky way, theres milk in your house which is in a country on earth in the milky way. So there is milk.

  • @SupaHumanTV Yes I kinda figured when I said I was in the milkyway and poured a glass of milk that while there, that the milky way has milk in it, but the point I was trying to get across is that the milky way galaxy is not made of milk :)

  • This video was obviously made with youtube viewers in mind, lol! :)

  • @spritsengiggle Thats right :D

  • i love this stuff and the effort you put in it. i truly wished i had a teacher as fun and lively back in the day....its great But i can only say one name of who you remind me of BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY!! never the less i give you props!!!

  • @SpeedDemonS7 Well thanks very miuch Im glad to hear you appreciate the work I put into each show it makes putting these sci files together just that much more worth it and thanks again :D

  • he kills me XD

  • nice vid i actually learned something from this! thank u for uploading :)

  • @babyblueusagi Thanks you very much, Im glad I could share something with you that you didnt know :D

  • You seem alot like the science guy on that old tv show.

  • @YamiPoyo Im better then that guy on that old TV show, I bring science into the youtube generation ;)

  • @Socoolscienceshow get over yourself, you aren't better than squat. Every great intellectual must have some humility, something you lack apparently.

  • @sgtsparrow100 every great troll has somethig you lack, nothing on thier youtube page!

  • @Socoolscienceshow Right, everyone who thinks you're a self absorbed twat is obviously a troll, sure I could post a video of my cat chasing his tail and get more views than you'll ever get, and you should learn how to spell while you're posting your "awesome" videos.

  • get lost. first school students know thıs....

  • @oscar30051978 tell that to the 2100+ people who watch this show, but I gotta warn you its gunna take along damn time >: D

  • hii... first i wanna say ur quite funny lol. erm im just wondering though, its kinda lil scary to see a milky way from earth with our naked eye... how close is milky way actually? or is it really big? but we are a part of the milky way like as in we ARE IN IT right? ... so... we can actually see it? i know if we see nebula or something like that would actually makes me at ease but milky way? lol idk.. to me its kinda scary to see milky way from earth

  • @musicmakespeace Yes we are in 1 of the arms of the milky way, you can see it becuz its such a massive galaxy at 100,000 light years from one side to the other. We can only see a small portion of the milky way and cant see our entire galaxy. When you see pictures of the milky way your acctually seeing another spiral galaxy that scientist have taken a picture of, compared that to what we can see, and came to the conclusion thats the milk ways shape. You dont have to be afraid of the milk way

  • I live on a farm in Australia and I saw this two nights ago... It was beautiful.

  • @OceanicOctopus Yeah a farm is a really good place to see the milkyway cuz your out away from the the city lights. I usually head out to moutain park here in los angels when I head out to show people the milky way :)

  • So the reason I can't see the milky way is because of light pollution?

  • @mrastronomy15 Thats pretty much why :) You gotta get to a place where the light wont drown out the light coming from the galaxcy if you wanna see it.

  • this reminds me of bill nye. a little cheesy. this vid should address light pollution, the reason why most can't see the milky way.

  • @punishalltrolls I was really going for light pollution as the topic of the vidoe I wanted to focus more on galaxcies in this video :D Although light pollution is a terible thing for amature and even profesional astronamers.

  • I really don't care if the computer graphics are crappy or if any other pictures were gotten off Google or whatever. I enjoyed this video. It makes me happy to see that there are others who are so passionate about science, or about astronomy and space. Also, I lol'd several times while watching this. :D Keep up the awesome work.

  • @ROFLDOCTOR111 Thanks Im glad you enjoied this sci file it makes me proud to hear that :D I drew all the pictures of the galaxcies myself no picture came from google cuz those pictures all have copyrights on them. All of the picturesI I use in the sci files come from public domain sites or I draw them up myself. As for the picture of the galaxcy in the night sky, legally I have no comment :)

  • things i really want to see in the night sky are meteor showers, and the milky way its deffinetly a dream of mine :)

  • @AnimeObsess93 Meteror showers are really nice to watch, especialy if the earth passes through an area on its path with lots of dust and debris. Theres usually an anual metershower around August. I may do a sci file on meteor showers :)

  • @Socoolscienceshow thanks a lot I appreciate it, you just made me happy :)

I graduate high school next month so I'll have a better chance of seeing one in

the summer if I can stay up late enough lol
