apparently ! I didn´t write the lyric. Anyway, if you scoll down a very considerate chap left the entire text, as I´m not the only one struggling to `hear`what he sings.
Boy, this makes me wish I was in a prog rock band again! Excellent keyboard chops! But in my area, drummers can be found, it's the keyboardists that are always missing! I have to play keys in my band, and I suck!
No problem. I could not find accurate lyrics on line so I deciphered them myself. It took me about twenty hearings before I could figure out the line "Sheriff rode him into town with Josey lookin' sad" Anyway, nice to hear someone else is aware of such a cool tune.
I have no sheet of this song but I can give you a nice link where you can get lots of midifiles with ELP songs There are few mistakes but in general the files are OK
In case you've got a program like Cubase, you can create sheets
hey ! Thanks for the lyrics. I had to guess what he was singing at times , and I just screwed it up in a few places. I also had tons of lyrics and parts to remember at that gig, so i´m grateful I got through it without too many balls ups. Thanks again for the lyrics.
Wow, very nice... especially your voice! Hope you'd like my one ;-)

Very good! The lyrics were always a little blurred even when GL sang it. Sound was great.

He looked again for sheriff's men, but couldn't see a trace.
Josey found a nice warm place,
but then the sheriff solved the case -- poked a gun in Josey's face 'n said "look here".
Sheriff rode him into town with Josey lookin' sad.
He didn't know about the six-gun, big-kid Josey had.
Josey drew his gun real fast and gave the sheriff one big blast.
Josey runs the town at last -- a legend from the past.
Nobody ever messed with the sheriff.

(part 2)
Sheriff followed Josey's trail from Kansas city west,
he said he put a bullet right through poor ol' Josey's chest,
but Josey wasn't like the rest - he don't like bullet holes in his vest, in fact he'd do his very best - don't want any arrests,
don't want to be the guest of the sheriff.
The nights got so damn cold, he couldn't stand the pace.

But I think you should know the words:
Big kid Josey rode away in the sunset colored sky,
a lynching mob had strung his friends up right before his eyes,
He didn't know what they'd both done -- he sure as hell would end up hung -- a hot tin notch on the sheriff's gun if he didn't move on.
Get out of here.
