Toshiba is as good as a Mac imo....The Toshiba Reeltime and Board app is a verry nice touch for Windows 7. Their service is by far the best compared to any other company. And the quality of the their products is superb. They may not have a good range of performance, but you will get a good bang for your buck.

well mac osx is a bit better than windows, but ive tested windows, mac, and linux, and i have to say that mac is even worse than windows, it only has a few pros like being somewhat immune to viruses and working a bit faster. but linux is the best choice for an operating system and gaming computers like alienware and voodoo are the best choice for hardware.

if u werent ignorant and actually watched the introduction of the macbook air, you would see that apple has planned for all possible uses of a dvd burner/disc drive. and if you are working where the air is designed to be used (plane etc.) you would not want to use speakers anyways, and would instead simply use headphones. as to the usb port, sure. it is not enough for a primary computer, but if u think, what do you need to plug in?

on my computer right now, i have one usb port in use, for internet (ethernet is broken *groan*). get a wireless keyboard and mouse, the printer is attached to the network, and then you have a usb port for a flash drive, ipod etc. i rest my case.

Its more complicated than you're making this. Its not thinner/faster/better, its the feature-set you want. This and the Macbook Air are for different customers. This is a lightweight port-rich computer. It has a crappy display and crappy keyboad. The user experience suffers for the size. The Macbook Air is the exact opposite, fast, with no ports, but an incredible display and best keyboard I've ever seen on a portable. Buy what you want.

It's not thinner, but it is lighter being made out of plastic (macbook air is made out of aluminum). It also sports a smaller screen, keyboard, and battery life. I don't think Toshiba has much to brag about here.

Actually that is not really true. The Toshiba uses a Magnesium alloy as case. The screen is 13 inch so minimal small. (Apple 13.3 inch) The battery is lasting longer than any other battery in the world and their screen is the first transflective screen. Meaning you can acutally use it outise and still read it.

I think they have something to brag about.

NB: Most of the technology in the MacBook is actually made by Toshiba. :-)
