  • Excellent Essay!:)

  • That's a good idea. I believe in "spring cleaning" once a year if I can. Plus, I'm always looking to create something different, when it comes to music.

  • thank you Darrin

  • I loved your Essay: I think it's a really brave thing to do - destroy everything and start anew and fresh. I get to tied to my art - I do love to deconstruct and make new art from something I have done - but to destroy to nothing ... I think it's brave. The fresh white walls sound marvelous.

Enjoy the experience and thanks for challenging my mind.

  • thought provoking essay man. Be cool if you embedded it to the video section of tailcast. I think the guys there will find it interesting.

I personally dislike waste and destruction, and thought I might suggest a different use of those 'unwanted' pieces.. You could offer them to a charity auction, give them to loved ones or donate them to places like libraries or public buildings.. Obviously it's your prerogative, but i thought I'd share those thoughts :]

    Peace!

  • to donate (which i do) everything would undermine the whole concept of catharsis.

think of it as burning a field to help promote a healthier ecology.

    thanks for the comment.

  • fair play man

  • thanks for the use of your essay!

  • fantastic! in the positive, "i'm with you, brother," kind of way. loved it. from the beginning, and especially the end.

  • thanks man... how bout an 'i believe' [randall-style]? or a video response?!?!

    where you been brother?

  • Hey if you want to mix oil and water, you need an emulsifier.

I hope you don't destroy your art. I never could figure that out when artists did that. At the very least, you could donate it to some charity as a fund raiser, or maybe some nursing homes, etc. Then it would have a purpose.

In fact, you can send me the three pieces I see behind you. I like them!

  • 'emulsifier'... funny.

not sure my work would be best suited for a nursing home, though it's a nice thought. i have in the past (in will continue to) donated to charity events... in fact i gave 2 optical aroma flowers to a charity fund raiser. anyway... to give everything away would undermine the whole concept of catharsis (and kill my fantisy).

    thanks for the Comment!

  • The ending was CLASSIC...

  • thanks.

(bet you didn't know rocky could sing opera)

  • Nice...

  • You don't have move in and out of the camera for emphasis. We get it.

  • i tend to get monotone if i don't use body language... it's a quirk of mine.

    thanks for the feedback.

  • That was quite good, and it's a fantasy that will take bravery to implement. I could never let go of things like that -- I'm a horrible packrat. And yes, I'm talking about inner stuff as well as the out stuff.

I hope you will submit this to N.P.R.'s series as well. (Of course, then they'd probably make you take this down.)

  • your a healer.. good observations and your really onto something. I am always pondering and struggling with (what am i giving/recieving in this life)Your ideas of purging and cleansing yourself will produce Positive effects. Its a leap of faith!

  • thank you.

  • This is WONDERFUL! thanks for sharing... and crap, my kids are only 5, it doesn't end?

  • not for a while (5 was FUN!).

13yr old boy + 10yr old girl = instant termoil

  • it sounded like the were fighting... I fear this as my guys are triplets and are fighting a lot already...yikes.

  • Good one! I like the closing the most and do us all a favor and show us that burning of your work. Do like a ceremony. That would be cool.

  • excellent words, my friend. i've been having similar thoughts.

  • thanks man.

    i love your work, btw.

    take care.

  • lol @ the outtakes. :D
