I think what Burmese people need is appreciation from us that their culture is unique, that we support them, that they can sell us their handicrafts, that we show our respect to them and that we acknowledge their skills that we include the ethnic groups and that we continue to call Burma blessed despite their clan leaders. We stand with the people of Myanmar. The demons will be outlawed by the angels.

The brutal military regime in Burma/ Myanmar uses the money it earns from package tourism to maintain its stranglehold over the population. This is one of the regimes few sources of income. You can help to destabilise the regime if you deny them this support. Please do not travel in Burma. Foreign travel companies must be held accountable when they encourage foreigners to go to Burma. Please do NOT support these companies. I ask that you contact YouTube and urge them to remove these videos.

That doesn't mean tourists cannot visit Myanmar. Locals will be unhappy over this issue. The country may not be democratic, but if misused this ideology, this is how the protest tarnished its image in Thailand during the ASEAN summit which should end at 12th April (It was cancelled on 11th April).

I understand your point but at the same time your not spending money that in many cases would help local people make a living under very rough circumstances.

I say go there on your own, not with a tourist group and make a point ot spending your money locally and not with government run institutions..
