I have a question about the Ebb und Flut. I had the Sherman Filterbank 2 for a while and sold it because I found it took too much volume to really drive the inputs on it. Now is the Ebb und Flut easier to drive? Thanks.
@crpederson The ebbe und flut input is a little more sensitive than the Sherman, but the ebbe und flut has been out of production for a couple of years. There are plenty of ways to boost a signal though.
Sound on Sound normally does great reviews, but I did not agree with that one at all. The reviewer seemed to miss the point that the Ebbe & Flut is a one-of-a-kind piece of gear. You cannot recreate it with any combination of other gear. The sound is simply amazing. It inspires most users the moment they lay their hands on it.
I never found the original version to be noisy, but the new version (with a more glossy front) is quieter than the original version (which you see in our videos).
Hmm... Let me think for two seconds.... YES! There are other classic filters that no filter addict could possibly live without (Sherman Filterbank and Korg MS10 immediately come to mind). But the ebbe has such an incredibly beautiful, liquid quality to it.
The first time I sat down with an ebbe, I had five minutes to spend. I ended up tweaking around on it for nearly an hour before realizing I was very late for an appointment. My advice - set an alarm clock. The ebbe is too much fun.

I'm nervous about buying one because Sound on Sound review says it is really noisy :(

I do not know whose cool, spacey music that is, but you can hear the dry signal between 0:27 - 0:36.
At 0:36 the ebbe und flut is switched out of the 'bypass' mode.

I reeeally want to get me an E&F. Nice video, thanks. Would have been nice to hear the dry signal for comparison purposes though.

Hi. The Ebbe and Flut is bypassed at the beginning. It's switched on at :36. All the other effects, mostly reverb, are from the Elektron.

Ah, thank you!
