  • Very cool.

  • fuckin' grow up

  • me gusta el del parche en el ojo

  • I wish this sort of stuff cloud happen here in Sweden as well :)

  • ppl quit making goth a fashion statement. yes u can dress like a goth but that does not mean u are goth, and yes goths tend to be anty social, but its not realy a choice

  • @h8ter29 A large part of the Goth subculture is the attire. however, no, JUST dressing in lovely gothic attire does not earn you a one way ticket to Gothville. It is both a style and a lifestyle (ex. 'finding beauty in dark places' as the Lady of the Manners likes to say) . So don't say "ppl quit making goth a fashion statement." because it IS, and it has been for the past thirty years.

  • my copy of gothic charm school came in the mail yesterday

    i love it

  • I usually dig goths, but the guy at 1:44 is just a fucking embarrassment to watch. Euuugh...

  • @icarus313 that is a sort of steampunk look but hey if you are into picking on ppl its your cake XD

  • @skyyoshida1988

I don't really care if it's steampunk or whatnot, I'm just cringing when he talks.

  • @icarus313 i agree with you

  • 1:39 ...... TOTALLY HOT!!!! #jussayin'

  • I love Gothic Charm School!

  • FUCKING MOO!!!!

  • I cant afford to dress goth right now :(

  • ...*tear*

  • The guy's accent at 1:44 is so fake xD Oh well, I love his top hat. I have one just like it. :)

  • @brandXnewXeyesX He watched a little to much Johnny Depp movies, if you ask me...

  • Is it possible to be born "goth" or is it just my imagination?

  • @Deadkyd Oh man. I was born goth.

  • My "outfit" black jeans, T-shirt, shoes, glasses, 2 belts, 5 or so chains, MP3...

  • Here in North America "Emo's" rule the entire dark world... crap....

  • @Deadkyd Emo isn't dark, emo is gay :D

  • You couldn't do this in cemeteries in my town a lot of people sadly treat them like dumps with their dogs, vandalism and litter sad really :(

  • Luv it! I want to attend one T_T

  • HOWRYOOUUU hot man with the monocle *fans self*

  • I love the Lady of the Manners Dress its so beautiful and everyone elses apparel as well I want to go to a tea party like that <3

  • Very pretty @1:28

  • Wish I could've gone. I got asked before about my "costume" and when I told them that this is how I always look, that it is my normal look, I got a bit of a funny look, a pause and then a "it suits you" made me happy :)

  • maybe rewind this 20 years and someone would care.

  • uhmn, this is victorian dressing, NOT goth. sorry kids, i am one.

  • @spadehatesscrewtube exactly.

  • @spadehatesscrewtube - Yeah, it's like goth-esque steampunk.. :/ I like it, but it's not EXACTLY goth.

  • @xxxdeadgirl587xxx well, to each their own and i guess i shouldn't get so "steamed" about labels ..

just nothing like when i was into it. victorian dress/period piece was more for the vamps in my time.

    or ren faire.

  • @xxxdeadgirl587xxx actually this is Goth style, it is one of the main. :) this is true to the heart goth. one of the most famous and oldest goth styles. so you are wrong.

  • @azulrey23 - Well, I'm not going to argue with you. It's my opinion that it isn't QUITE goth, it's more steampunk. We are all allowed to have our own opinions.

  • the goths here wear a LOT of colours... and a lot of medieval and victorian attire. Odd.

  • @AgentHomer well, there is a lot different kinds of goth . . . some of this looked kinda steampunk & lolita. but i guess most of this was OTT ^ ^

  • @SheKicks7 I know, I'm kinda "in the scene", too ^^" well our scene is different anyway. Yeah, a lot of it IS steampunk and lolita, but steampunk is little more than a fahsion trend (actually it's nothing more at all), and I have no Idea how it originated from the goth scene, and lolita has nothing to do with it anyway, it's really just a japanese trend of imitating manga girls. the medieval scene started out as something seperate, too.

  • @SheKicks7 So, that's the reason why I think it's kinda odd, that they talk about the "goth scene" having a picnic i the graveyard, and all you see is brown steampunk eyeglasses, pink lolitas and purple medieval linen cloth.

  • @AgentHomer hahaha alotta steampunks

  • @0deefreak seriously.

  • My friends and I are having a Gothic Picnic in a graveyard next week. :)

  • Haha when I clicked this I thought it was supposed to make fun of the political "Tea Party"

  • I'm so jealous of their dresses..... i desperately want a victorian dress being neo-victorian.... but being lower middle-class limits me to so much ;A;

  • I wish I would have been there, don't have a Victorian attire, more gothic Lolita but I still would have wanted to go

  • why is it people assume just cause you wear black your goth??fucking Christ!

  • i luv every thing in the gothic culture

  • I want the author's outfit, even though I'm not a goth.

  • Looks more like Steampunk.

  • I would like to do something like thsi in my city... only problem is that people would call the police and say we're doinga satanist feast or some other stupid stuff... :L

  • @gothicgrowler I know what you mean. Where I live I would get the same response. Love the idea, just can't see it being pulled off where I live. People here would say it was disrespecting the dead.

  • crazy.

  • wish i could ahve gone there i have always wanted to have a beautiful tea party with everyone dressed up like that (and in a grave yard not a bad touch) Granted i dont wear constant black i change my colors to my mood but i do love victorian era stuff wich is why goth style has tweaked my intrest more than once.

  • Yay steampunk goth! I love that style!

  • Beautiful. NY is just a city away...!! Oh, I wish I knew about this! I would have LOVED to meet the Lady of Manners!!

  • i so wish i was invited :(

  • It's G. D. Falkenson!

  • i love that the Lady of the manners wears mostly three colors - black, white and pink. i do the same thing, only with black, white and red.

  • @TheLastHylianTitan THATS AWSOME!!! Those are my three colors as well :)

  • @mryoshifreak sweeeet.

  • I'm glad to see some actual goths for once. Trendy teenagers basically took away the meaning of goth. -_-'

  • @getchaNerdOn bah, they're young. some will stop being goth, and some will grow into it more.

  • I think that queen victoria wouldve approved:)

  • ha, I saw some lolitas mixed in.

  • Cool 0.0 !!!

  • 1:49 Hot accent! But I think it's fake.

  • i want my wedding to be like this <3

  • my friend rob has this book

  • @BOLSHEVIXTREME

  • yay men in cosets!

  • "And All of the guests.....Were GOTHS!"

  • @CorvusKorax17 awesome name :D

  • @jonnyether Lol Thanks :)

  • I'm crying . i wish i was there. lady of the manners and all the other goths there look wonderful.

  • I LOVE YOU THE LADY OF MANNERS

  • ah but to be proper Goth you have to be British... and probably from Leeds ;) at least that's where the scene kicked off - as for the first reference to gothic - it was actually Tony Wilson referring to Joy Division...

  • @UlfilasUk just because goth kicked off in europe doesnt mean you have to live their to join the subculture lol. as long as your mentality is of a gothic nature your goth regardless of where your from or how you dress

  • @UlfilasUk I don't think that's true at all. Poe lived in the US, as did Emily Dickinson. And Goth goes back way further than Joy Division. Gothic architecture is hundreds of years old, as is Gothic literature (e.g. Dracula and Jane Eyre).

  • @LittleLunarLullaby Dracula and Jane Eyre... both British ;) Well... Bram Stoker was Irish so it's almost the same thing (cue backlash from Eire). Gothic Architecture was only so called because it was "barbarian" and has nothing to do with the music or more contemporary scene... I'm merely poking fun as an elder Goth...

  • @UlfilasUk I'm from the US but I live in the UK. And yes, popular Gothic culture has most definitely been the most heavily influenced by British writers and artists.

  • @UlfilasUk and I'm smiling at this comment as a young latin american gothbecause you're right :)

  • i dont understand why parents think its weird they wore black in there teen years why cant we

  • Wish I could of been there, or that she'd throw it again.

  • AWESOME PARTY! AND CLOTHES! GOTHS ARE BEAUTIFUL. . .

  • Nothing like this ever happens at the place where i live!! sad :(

  • @shreyasragunath WHERE DO YOU LIVE? YOU CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN! DONT BE SHY...THINK OF ALL THOSE AROUND YOU WHO FEEL THE SAME WAY. . . YOU ALL KNOW YOU CAN CHANGE IT!

  • gorgeous decadent fashion <3

  • lol ok 1:50 I love your voice

  • this looks o much fun!

  • That looks like fun. I have her book.

  • Awesome! I so wish I could have attended! The corset at 1:34 is amazing.

  • Wish I was there...

    *sigh*

    They all look so beautiful!

  • I wish I was there!!!!!

  • I HATE it when at the beginning, the reporter says "Goths" as if there is something wrong with us.

  • @DraculasVampiress its okay. just ignore them. their lives are boring.

  • @DraculasVampiress there are those people who can only say "goth" in an undertone of spite. just ignore it, that doesn't deserve any attention.

  • @DraculasVampiress sadly its in human nature to discriminate and judge. but i've knoticed that its becomeing more acceptable tho to be different.

  • @DraculasVampiress thats because there is something wrong with you guys. your fucking loser who try and be trendy. fucking kill yourselfs.

  • @DraculasVampiress Well the general audience is probably going to be getting bad ideas about us by the way the reporter is sounding as well. They treat us like outcasts from the beginning without giving a chance for explanations about who we are from the beginning.

  • @NewKokujinOptions fuck you 1 your not british or anywere from there so dont fake it..and 2 your a freak

  • @dare751 Like the guy faking the British accent in the video, right?

    Bloody wanker.

  • why is it that all I see when I look at other goths is victorian clothes, lace, and velvet? what happened to the punk aspects of goth fahsion? did they just go out the window or something?

  • @mike107210 punk and emo are different forms of goth, i guess

  • @TheySaidSheSays

goth EVOLVED from punk, that's the closest punk gets to goth. Emo also evolved from punk, but all three are SEPARATE subcultures. If you'd read gothic charm school, you wouldn't have said such a stupid thing.

  • @TheySaidSheSays WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK, ok punk is about 20 years older than goth AT LEAST, goth came from post punk in the mid 70's, goth is more a type of punk not the other way around, PUNK is a subculture of its own, GOTH is part of it, to an extent

as for EMO, EMO came from HARDCORE PUNK in the mid 90's it also died in the mid 90's it was simply a harder heavier more emotional form of punk and has absolutlye nothing to do with goth whatso ever

  • @AzraelBlackthorn oh... didn't know that ty

  • @TheySaidSheSays no problem,

  • goth opportunist venters. this isn't the original goth but who cares. i don't recognize her as representing goth, but hey that's life in the dumb usa.

  • @up2space then tell me what original goth is? and why you dont recognize the lady of the manners?

  • @SuperSimba6 first i have to ask you where do you live? that will tell me something.

  • @up2space I live in california, usa, but that doesnt mean i didnt do my research into gothic culture before i dived into the scene, im not some emo kid that wears black like some kind of phase, i am actually originally from the hip hop scene, i just always felt like an outsider there, my thoughts and actions were too "out there', the sort of books i read, everything i did was "different", black and white just happen to be my favorite colors. When i found there was a scene for my tastes....

  • @up2space Jillian Venters is a wonderful role model. She is sensible and spreads positivity.

  • the dude at 139-157 looks and sounds like the mad hatter

    i like it

  • i'll leave my corpse in a pretty pink forest called Shnamanmnm where unicorns can eat me *-*

  • @denial09 i didn't get it, so i had to ask: what?

  • Wow, you know it really sucks being a teen goth, and not being able to join into these kind of things because your parents think your a freak. I can totally relate to these type of people and they really do have good intent. its ashame that narrow-minded individuals have to ruin it.

  • That monocale was cool, and that surgeon corset was even cooler

  • i guess im the only one that notices the rotten ass bananas and raw hot dogs at 1:17, huh?

  • the dude with the monacale - fit !!!

  • there not weirdo queers. there normal just like you [ if your even normal] and its not a harry potter thing its a tea party,,,dumbass

  • @DaDanDada Same here man. I lived hating fat chicks, and I'd like to continue doing so in the afterlife.

  • @ParkSlopeYuppyToilet u should do something about it

  • @ParkSlopeYuppyToilet i understand why your pissed. But they are by the church or whatever and are NOT on the graves, so you dont have to worry about that. Some are strange but most are normal. Just dress different. They wouldnt do anything to be disrespectful towards anyone. So im sure they werent on the graves

  • @ParkSlopeYuppyToilet at its height, a victorian pastime was to have picnics in cemeteries. my understanding of that is the scarcity for time for amusement in those days and the deep respect accorded the dead. The creation of cemeteries with park like settings served both purposes.

  • looking for gothic guys that can save me from my loneliness

  • that looks so fun!

  • goth is as varied as the people who claim it. it ranges from the post punk, batcave, Dark wave, EBM industrial, there is so much great music out there that has dark beauty who cares what its called as long as you enjoy it? thats why i believe goth has evolved once again, because of so many influenced genres of its base. the foundation is true for the true, but i see it absurd to negate to one era of music for the sake of JD or Bauhaus to fit their label of Goth. its what u make it friendz

  • i wish i was there

  • Emo is not a ripoff of goth, seriously. It is it's own subgenre of punk. It started in the 80's with Ian MacKaye's (Minor Threat and Fugazi) band Embrace and Guy Piccioto's band Rites of Spring. It's not like what the "emo" kids do now, but it's sure as hell not a bunch of goth wannabes.

  • @TrannySammy good looking out on the emo thing. im not emo, but i know that it wasnt an offshoot of goth, i mean, goth was really an offshoot of punk too lol were like Kulture Kousins lol

  • emo came out through the hardcore scene believe it or not and goths came way before emo i don't know y their this thing u got 2 cut your self 2 b emo i thought it stood 4 emotional hardcore i thought it was just merly i trend and a sub genre of hardcore and indie rock

  • i feel lonely anyone want to chat with a goth girl

  • i do

  • I wish i could have been! My uncle lives in NY and tells me all the time about events like these. It looks so fun!

  • it seems fun!

and the place they chose seems so beautiful!

  • i wish i'd been able to attend. Jillian venters is such an inspiration to me.

  • I like how the young ladies between 1:58-2:27 can articulate their motivations for membership in this style tribe without resorting to affected fake-ass "English" accents or aetheroscopic thingamajigs.

Cosplay Clowns like 1:39 make the rest of us lok bad.

  • got attention?

  • I wish I could have been there. D:

  • How amazing and beautiful. I wish I had been able to attend.

  • I see myself in the background of some shots :D

  • the people there look so beautiful.

I wish i went there, or to the wave-gotik treffen.

Does anyone know anything in London?

  • that be mi heaven .lol

  • that looks so cool, man gothic lifestyle is awesome to me.

  • cries"i wanted to go!!!":(

  • I just wear black.

  • ok.

  • She's beautiful! My true idol..

  • i would have loved to go to that

  • Mmmph...I don't really like the guy from 1:45-1:57, he's clearly acting in character as a persona he made up for himself. Which is a wrong representation of goth. Goth doesn't equal "let's play pretend!!1" it's (like they mentioned) an aesthetic; not some kind of LARP. -___-;;

  • i agree...

  • While i understand where you're coming from, I must say that Goth is all about doing what you enjoy doing. If that's what he enjoys, more power to him!
