the way that the lighting system works now, it is almost impossible for mod makers to make things like this give off a colored glow, so most mods just keep the torch or glowstone glow

note in the 'easy' recipe you need to get coal all the colored dyes get to the nether get glowstone (mabye a diamond pick if you dont know how to cheat a nether portal) soo yeah pretty hard to collect it all but easy to craft it all.
