  • @brungasto LMAO -- yeah, Oz fridges come in sizes a lot smaller than anything I've ever seen in Canada/North America homes (they still got the big 'normal' ones we're used to, but a lot of homes have those small ones). I'm taller than my fridge, and I'm 5'2.5.

  • @brungasto It's a camera illusion - the tripod is higher than me and the camera is angled down. So it makes me look taller than everything ;)

  • From what I gather this is the same as basil pesto but with dried tomatoes instead of the basil. Never heard of it till today but being that I dry romano tomatoes that I grow I will be making it in the food processor like I do the basil pesto.Hope it freezes as well as the basil kind. I also home can my veggies and bake my own bread but you have to have the time for stuff like that. I'm spoiled lol.

  • @OnePotChefShow Try 2 pantries and a set of cupboards in the basement. Two freezers and 2 fridges. I quick can all my soups and stews too, that's what the second fridge is for. It's nice to have the space for every size crock pot too. All I ever wanted was a huge kitchen. Took 30 yrs to get it but wow it's great. :o)

  • Your pesto there is simply tomato sauce or what else is there? Just so you know, we Italians call pesto a sauce made with basil, parmesan and pecorino cheese and olive oil ;) You got me confused for a moment. Nice recipe though :)

  • @ioanonissimo Feel free to replace the chicken with ham, mushrooms, or a mix of your favourite vegetables. This recipe is very adaptable :)

    David, please, Every early July I organize a big BBQ with friends for my birthday & spend my all day in kitchen to cook appetizer to dessert...cheezy cookies, marinades, cheese flavor lolipops, fruits tart.... I try no to cook same "dish" every year.... any ideas for me ? I've made so many through the years, but do you know a nice one,maybe something you do for bbq's in your country ?

  • @littlebugkf #1 Ok.. just a tip, if you have an immersion blender, it'd help to keep some more consistency to the sauce, even though it'd take a lot more time..

    Ingredients: 1 Garlic glove, a big handful (literally, handful) of basil, 150ml extra virgin olive oil, 100g parmisan cheese, salt, pepper, 50g pine nuts, 500g tomatoes, 150g ricotta.

    Preparation: wash the tomatoes, cut them in half, then squeeze them (removing all that's inside of them), then cut them in half again..

  • @littlebugkf #2 now put them in the food processor (without turning it on), add the basil (wash it first and dry it up with some paper towel), pine nuts, garlic glove, parmesan cheese, ricotta, and oil, start blending on low speed, you may stop when you're happy with it's consistency, then add salt and pepper to taste, you can keep it in the fridge (sealed) for 1-2 days.. enjoy!

  • Now that's a pasta salad! Here in the US they are often drenched in mayo or salad dressing which I think is disgusting. This looks yummy!

  • @LifewithEl Tomato Pesto, is what in Italy we call "pesto alla siciliana" (sicilian pesto) because it was invented in sicily, south italy. The ingredients are: pepper, salt, garlic, basil, tomatoes, olive oil, parmigiano reggiano (parmesan cheese), pinoli (pine nuts), and ricotta. While this is called "pesto alla siciliana", the green pesto is called "pesto alla genovese", because it was invented in Genova!

  • I wish I could get my cooking vids down to below 4 minutes. LOL I'm getting better. They used to be around the 10 minute mark and that was with a lot of shaving down.

  • @rockybarragan It takes a bit of practice. My advice is to edit out anything people already know. For example, if you need to use chopped onion, you don't need to show yourself actually chopping an onion - it helps save time :)

  • @OnePotChefShow See that was my mistake. I was showing me do everything. I wouldn't show the entire cut but I'd like "Now I'm going to dice some onion." show a few seconds of me dicing onions. LOL Thank you for the advice! <3

  • If I might suggest something, you can also use some green pesto, add some little sliced tomatoes and instead of chicken you use some fresh mozarella and you let it melt on the hot pasta! Then add a bit of fresh basil out of your garden and you're ready to go!

  • @passedmeflyingby In Italian "insalata" means dish composed by many ingredients, principally veggies, but there's also "insalata di pasta", and so on, so yes, the term salad is correct, and that is a salad by all means

  • Looks great! I usually make something simular with Pena Pasta, but I prefer the deep green Pesto w Italian Oregeno, Pine nuts and garlic, ect

    Sometimes, I eat it cold, and I vary it with what I have around , ie red paprika bell pepper, Greek Feta Cheeze, tuna if no chicken, bacon bits, black olives, & more *Virgin* Olive oil,( I fantasize: young kind-hearted Grecian Virgins on Korfu in Classical attire, with seasalt-ed clean feet coldpressing it fresh just4 me! : ) seasalt,peppa&balsamVinegar.

  • I am Italian and I would suggest you one thing: use some basil instead of parsley! It's better.. We love basil, it's the better thing if you are made your pasta with fresh tomato!
