Shadow is in the game as an assist trophy not a playable character. If you want him you have to get sonic by playing and winning classic mode 10 times with any character. U can switch charachtersevery time U beat it.

Shadow will more likely stay an assist trophy or will become an alternate costume for Sonic, I don't think Nintendo will let a 3rd party company, especially their old rivals many character slots on the roster, Knuckles or Tails have a much higher chance than Shadow anyways because they been around since the 16-bit era, you should be happy enough that Sonic even managed to get in.

Shadow would be a great character to play as, and addicting too. The Bio-Lizard would be monster kill, and Chaos would own all! His final smash would be Chaos one, and when you do the final smash again, Chaos 2, then 3, 4, ect. :P All the way to Perfect, then the rest is all just Perfect Chaos.
