With a single flight, she logged more flight time than the combined times of all American astronauts who had flown before that date (the Mercury missions).
Her achievements are internationally recognized. There is even a recent music album devoted to her called Vostok 6, by Kurt Swinghammer. It is a brilliant tribute.
My dad told me that he sat next to her when he was flying back from Belarus. He carried her luggage (since she's old now) and he told me that everyone respected her.
If some women broke barriers in politics, others in medicine and in other sports, for example, Valentina Tereshkova was also an important contribution to achieving gender equality. And this is Russia in 1963 became the first woman to travel into outer space. Rioja made aboard the Vostok.
YAY!!!
The Soviet Union has invented the first kitchen outside the Earth!

Dear All,
I have some questions about psychology:
(1) Why do female love space-travel?
(2) What is the motivation that cause females to become astronaut?
(3) How does space-travel benefiit a female in her personal development?
(4) What are the social values demonstrated by female astronaut?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

Otro gran logro de la Union sovietica, la primera mujer en el espacio Valentina tereskhova puesta en orbita un 16 de junio de 1963.

I was 11 years old at the time, and remember her flight well. Sputnik, Yuri Gagarin, Valentina... the USA was in quite a turmoil over that!

Great video! It's a shame that Ms Tereshkova has been largely forgotten by the public.
