one day while John Dillinger was robbing a bank a farmer was about to hand over a roll of bills over to him he said"im here for the banks money not yours" and walked out. so don't say he was just a petty crook
@SilverMoonAir Good point. It actually started out as a tribute to the Thompson creator John T. Thompson. That's who I mean't when I state: "This one's for you, John". But I failed to make the distinction, and everyone assumed I mean't Dillinger. My mistake, but I just went with it. And, he was a murderer.
The glamour of criminality really went downhill after people stopped using the Tommy Gun. I can't for the life of me understand why aspiring robbers and thugs don't still use. It's such a practical, badass weapon, even now almost a century after its invention, especially compared to the ridiculous crap today's gangsters shoot at each other with. Put ten of Capone's guys armed with Tommy Guns against ten gangbanger Crips armed with crappy little Tec-9s and see who wins.
@CrazyOldMaurice69 It's spelled Cryps, and also, to answer your question, YES, the thomson is much better, has a bigger capacity, shoots a better round. But they dont make FA thomsons anymore. How would a gangster GET a thommy gun? The reason they use Tec-9s is because they were easy to convert the semi auto AP9 into full auto. But that was in the 90's most gangsters no adays use knives and whatever guns they can steal. But I think the Cops should still use these AGAINST gangsters.
@1lovesoni They still make semi-auto replicas of the Tommy Gun, although I'm not sure how hard it would be to convert it into a full auto. I guess a Tec-9 is a lot easier to conceal and transport, too. Still, the Thompson is one terrifying weapon.
And I don't mean to insult you but it is spelled Crips.
@CrazyOldMaurice69 It's near impossible to convert them, not that I would try but a freind of mine has a semi thomson, the system in there is almost nothing like the original thomsons. Also the semis are closed bolt and the auto's are open. Only the old tec-9s could be converted. After they stopped making open bolt versions it became a lot harder for criminals to convert their guns to FA.
John Dillinger stopped by my great grandmas house when she was a kid and asked to use the phone... my great grandma let him, and she (and the rest of my family) hid in the living room because they all knew who he was.... and he didn't say goodbye but they eventually heard the front door shut... then she said they went in the kitchen where the phone was and there was a 20$ bill next to the phone on the counter.... witch was HUGE money back then
@wendyspwnsu That is a fantastic story! Thanks for sharing. That "tip" was about $250 in today's dollars. Which makes a $200 Tommygun a huge investment back then, except for those that simply stole them!
@90PDV thats where he robbed many banks... he would go to parts of kentucky to try and establish an alibi so he looked innocent... why would you think i would make this up? for thumbs up? no... just eat a dick... i was sharing a story my grandma told me.... people liked it... and gave it thumbs up apparently.... your the only one that dosn't like it so far

@reapercvr Um no... that's definitely the 1928 Thompson. The BAR is a Light Machine Gun that John Dillinger DID steal from the coast guard warehouses, but this is a Thompson...
@robharding1957 your just saying that b/c u didnt have to live thru the hell of the depression! Him standing up to the government like. He did what many ppl felt what was right at the time. I consider(excuse my spelling) him more of a hero than kennedy! Kennedy took advantage of monarch sex slaves my john did not!

John Dillinger did not use a Thompson90 percent of the time. His weapon of choice was the Colt 38 which he converted to full auto. There is a photo of him standing with a Thompson and Colt 38 behind his fathers barn.He always joked that carrying the Thompson was to heavy during a bank robbery and he wanted as much cash as he could carry.
The US administration trying to tighten gun control is stupid... It keeps law-abiding citizens away from guns, but it won't have any effect on crooks. What kind of moron will buy and register a gun before shooting somebody?
John Dillinger was a very cool "criminal". He never killed a single man and only stole from the banks that were making people poor. In fact, all of America LOVED him!
@MrM2dude John Dillinger wasn't really much of a bad guy. He never killed anyone, and he only stole a little bit of money. The FBI shot him down while he was unarmed. J. Edgar Hoover was a dick who wanted publicity. Dillinger was just a poor farm boy who needed to make a living in tough times. America liked him back then, he was a big "Robin Hood." He actually stole from the rich and gave to the poor!
@klingeljman Where are you getting that information? The original had a rate of around 1500 rpm, so fast that the military made them slow it down to about 1/2 of that before they'd even adopt it.
@flyurway okay..... i doubt that. there is like 2 guns with that fire rate. i would tap the trigger of the thompson and it would should about 3 shots. so about 6 shots a second. 6X60= 360rpm.
@klingeljman I don't doubt that any Tommy you get your hands on will not fire 1500 rpm...and I envy you for being able to because I'm sure I never will. I'm saying that the original, earliest Thompsons (1921's they are regarded as the first "submachine" guns ever), rate of fire was around 1500. The military wasn't interested in something that could waste lead on such a grand scale, so they slowed them down. Later (1928's) production was 600-800 rpm and the Army was all happy. Look it up.
@flyurway that was the ww2 version. he is shooting the early 1900 one. it is really heavy cause it has no recoil. it could of been the round drum when i shot it that made it so slow
Man! ....I hate the new "gangsta" shit nowadays! The godfather & al capone type of gangsters are the coolest ever! And they had something that the gangsters nowadays dont have..STYLE! @Twirlyhead Are you saying that gun bans work? Because no one can defend themselves against an armed assailant it doesn't matter...because there are no armed assailants? No gun related crime? I'm not trying to be a wise ass, I've never been to the UK so I don't know, I just find it hard to believe.
@Twirlyhead I wondered how that all worked out. So do you think that gun control helps the situation or is it more apt to make someone a helpless victim? As I see it, it pretty much sucks for you guys, can't defend yourself, can't hunt, can't shoot, can't have any damn gun-fun, man, might just as well shoot yourself and get it over with. Oh...wait....that's right......you can't........ XD
How to fire in the park? Simple. Roll up, roll out, take care of business, get back in, and roar of down the highway! Seriously, it was shot at the Land Between the Lakes (KY, US) firearms range. And, as I have mentioned previously, she's quite real.
Hahaha Thats awesome

@Twirlyhead Are you saying that gun bans work? Because no one can defend themselves against an armed assailant it doesn't matter...because there are no armed assailants? No gun related crime? I'm not trying to be a wise ass, I've never been to the UK so I don't know, I just find it hard to believe.

@flyurway - we do have gun crime in the UK but nowhere near as much - but you're right - the crooks have all the guns - them and the police that is.
Twirlyhead 8 months ago
@Twirlyhead I wondered how that all worked out. So do you think that gun control helps the situation or is it more apt to make someone a helpless victim? As I see it, it pretty much sucks for you guys, can't defend yourself, can't hunt, can't shoot, can't have any damn gun-fun, man, might just as well shoot yourself and get it over with. Oh...wait....that's right......you can't........ XD

@flybouy11 lulz yeah they can still get weapons.
adamrandom14 7 months ago
@flybouy11 the only way to stop that shit is for everyone in Chicago to buy a gun

I asked Santa for one of these for Christmas. . . he said I'd shoot my eye out! A girl can still dream, though.

i also have a model 1928A1, with a 50 round drum mag. its true it has less recoil bec its heavy and the cutts compensator.
cardingsungkit69 1 year ago
It's real. the cutts compensator limits the recoil by diverting the gas to the top of the barrel. you can see the gas coming out of the top.
the thing i dont get is how people allow you to fire a tommy gun in the park
josephlwu1 1 year ago
How to fire in the park? Simple. Roll up, roll out, take care of business, get back in, and roar of down the highway! Seriously, it was shot at the Land Between the Lakes (KY, US) firearms range. And, as I have mentioned previously, she's quite real.
