I'm fifteen and I'm getting my license in April! I'm so excited. Do you really have to wait till your seventeen to drive in the roads? Here we get our permits at 15 and we can drive with a licensed adult. Sixteen is when we can start driving alone.
i love you're video's saw the one you uploaded on the 24th of december 09' a good one (: and OH. i literally watched your video's 3 hours straight. very impressive (:
well if your 18 you can drive in alot of other countries and well the U.K. is a little different cause what in your country is the wrong side is the good side in my country(dutch) and that also counts for belgium france germany well and almost every other country so you should drive in every country except the U.K and austria(don't know how you spell it)
beckie i dont drive but my knee clicks alot when u got ot put ur foot on the cluch move yr whole leg it shouldnt clic but if u get a knee support that should stop
With your knee clicking it may cause you problems later in life, I would consider an automatic, there is agreater choice of small automatic cars today and at least you won't damage your knee :)
Driving, driving, driving. Here in the US you can start learning at 15, and I'm almost 16 and have not bothered to start yet. I'm scared out of my mind! But at the same time, I really want to drive too! Ugh, what a dilemma. Anyway, good luck! You'll do fine! And I hope your knee feels better! Mine does that sometimes too, especially when playing sports. So annoying!
I'm 100% certain that you will be fine with the hole driving thing. However I still wish you all the luck in the world with it.I do have one question....it's nothing really but......Why are you under a table?
Do You Know What I agree with LaurLongLocks .... It is much harder when you're out on the road but the main key is that you keep looking around for example in the mirrors and signal every turn cos I have done now about 9 hours of driving which pretty good and saying about your leg clicking my left leg shakes all the time well sometimes. But I am getting more and more confident everyday :) hope you will pass , are you signing up when you hit 17 :) cos I took mine at 17 .... Good Luck !
I'm having my third lesson on Friday (even though I'm 20, ha!), it's much harder than I thought! I'm terrible at steering, so I'm half way on the other side of the road most of the time!! I stalled last week, hit the kerb, and almost got smashed into at a junction. I think it's going to be expensive, haha
I don't know what method is considered correct, but having driven stick for over 20 years, I've found that pivoting your "clutch foot" on the heel is much easier than lifting the leg up and down. It's much more controlable to ease-off the clutch while gradually easing-on the accelerator. And likely will produce fewer knee clicks.
if your clickie knee is a problem can just pass in a automatic although i dont know if driving schools provide that or if you have to goto a specialist one, i passed my test in a morris marina was no power steering ,brakes ,seatbelts ,airbags ,suspension then. it even broke down on me plus a flat tyre which was good cos i learned how to change the wheel and sellotape parts back onto the car :) anyways goodluck
Beckie, for a half aminute you were driving on the RIGHT side of the road in America. I know that doesn't help you in the UK, but if you take a trip out here and have to rent a car you'll be all set (with the small exception that you have to be 21 in most places to rent a car).
Maybe it would be easier to learn to drive an automatic drive shirt car before you learn stick.
I don't mean to insult your cat, Giner, but I wouln't let him behind the wheel of a car.
i hate the people in drivers ed to teach you have to drive if they get stressed out, its hard and new for us haha and automatic can perhaps help your knee, my knees aren't as messed up as yours but yes. its much easier as well =] good luck beckie!!! lova ya
A stick is better for efficiency, but not really to learn with. If you're learning you should be concentrating more on things like speed, road signs, and videotaping..
So the questions are...what's different about driving in the UK than the US other than the obvious left side and the metric system? What about the legal BAC level? Can you talk on cellphones? Distance behind an emergency vehicle? Speed Limit? Tickets? Signs?
i understand what you mean about the whole being scared to drive thing. here in canada you only need to be sixteen, and im scared to even get my first test taken (which is a written one, before you can learn to actually drive) because i am literally terrified of getting behind the wheel.
but you seemed to be doing quite alright considering the knee click.
I freaked out when i had my first driving lesson.hahaha you'll get used to it.:] i've had my license for about two months now and i love it.:] learning on a clutch?!?! i'm sorry.haha. cant stand clutches. good luck!
1) Sounds like you need an automatic instead of a stick shift, and 2) you're just thinking about driving on the right side of the road in anticipation of moving to Hollywood to become a famous movie director!
Ive only drove once or twice in a parking lot so far but thats all im aloud tell i get my drivers permate to learn house. arg. i have to take a test which is annoying becuase i have to study and forget to becuase i have other things on my mind like school. annoying. grrrr.
Not a fan of that clicky leg thing. I loved leaning to drive such much so my driving test was just fun to me. Passed with ease. Only test i ever found easy. U have so many more tests today. Back then it was just the driving test
ahah my 2 yr old neice was crying because she didnt want to go in her car seat, she said she wanted to drive instead and was literally having a tantrum over it. aha.

Do you need knee surgery?
Contrary to all the hoopla about our healthcare (all untrue)
we can get you some magical arthroscopic lavage
and get that poppin stopped ;)
Winky395 2 years ago
Come to the states, then you'll be driving on the Right
side of the road. We will get you a car with an automatic
transmission so no knee pops and all the signs are in English already!
We will let anyone get a drivers license here,
whether they can actually drive or not!
Seriously, I know they have far higher standards
for drivers in the UK than we could ever imagine here.
Youll be fine, Have fun.
