I thought I knew enough. Yeah, the cards do not matter. You have to have guts, it's what it takes. So, I played online poker for a few months trying to bluff the donkeys to lay down their crappy hands at micro-stakes. I bluffed my stack away a few times, only to get called by second or third pair, lol.

ok well I AM a poker player and I can tell you this movie was shit and inaccurate. Probability of opponent folding, PFFFT. Which opponent? there are hundreds of different ways to play the same hand and each and every person you play against will play differently, you dont put a percentage on someone folding, because you can't. you do the math on the things you can. Pot Odds vs the percentage of hitting your outs, that sort of stuff. this movie is an insult to poker

You seem to forget about Fold Equity... And that IS in fact a calculation of your opponents range of likely holdings and your amount of chips.. they are kind of right on that one....

true but you actually need an oppontent to be able to calculate that, and you need to know how they play, in this movie they present neither of these situations in the conversation. it is talking about a purely mathimatical scenerio. and you can't do that when you are talking about an opponents hand in poker, someone who plays Loose Agressive will have different starting hands then someone who plays tight passive etc. you can't just ramble off a scenerio and say "oh 92% chance they will fold"
