    Millythek

  • 21 dislikes, i dont get it.

  • Lacks spirit ! And respect !

  • @Steacy783 It's just in a different spirit than you're used to, I mean no harm but it looks to me like you're the one who lacks respect...

  • Most cool!

  • sounds like the sound they play whenever they show someone tripping in a movie XD

  • ok... bamboo flutes sound tight

  • It kind of sounds like the Forest Temple from Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess

  • Zasloff is a wonderful player sensitive and humorous

  • Chills down my spine

  • Bravo-

  • MIC'S AT THE WRONG END

  • Is not. -_-

  • Beautiful.

There is no right or wrong way to play shakuhachi. Only inner feeling. Once you got it you got it. Avoid mundane stuff.

  • @MRobe91000 You are absolutely right.

  • oh man.....he is playing summertime on shakuhachi...that's awesome

  • toka ben per n se oxe mucho

  • toka ben per n se oxe mucho

  • lolwut?

  • love it

  • I think he plays with his own sense of inner Zen (maybe not in the traditional way, but his own spirit). If you look at his face and posture you can tell he is feeling his music.

  • ...he doesn't play with much spirit...just not the same as a shakuhachi master

  • Sorry, don`t like this shakuhachi style much either. I`m a more of a traditionalist I guess.

  • this is awesome!

  • Nice performance! I really love that instrument, definently going to buy it someday...

  • impressive

  • most impressive shakuhachi sound i've ever heard.

  • ye but anyway, it's sounds great :)

  • dude, its called evolution

  • I understand the evolution of how an instrument may be played and what style it may be applied to, but in my personal opinion I'm not particularly fond of this man's shakuhachi playing. He is undoubtedly very skilled, nonetheless.

  • (that was supposed to be a reply a bit down this page, not sure why it didnt work properly)

  • What is Zen at all?

  • w00t .. that's the best (or should I say worst..) spam I ever read ..

  • I hope one day I will be Japanese

  • lol

  • I love how he plays this traditional Japanese instrument in every way except a traditional Japanese way.

  • This is the quintessential Japanese spirit. People who post video's of Ryoanji Temple should use this as an accompaniament and not other inappropriate 'junk' as I've recently discovered.

  • summer time!!

  • I have a sideblown Shakuhachi.... I should have bought an end blown :P

  • Wonderful! Where can I hear more from this man?

  • Great!

I'm trying to take the shakuhachi tecnich into saxphone.

  • He's superb! Who is this man? Where can I find out more about him?

And I agree with the Jethro Tull comment - very jazz flute. The opening improvisation is also incredibly evocative.

  • its realy awesome

  • wow !! thats beautiful

  • Your video clip is great and I've rated it as awesome. Please check out mine on some 1920's trading cards of musical instruments, including the flute.

  • nice one but the indian flute is even more difficult..believe me you get no sound at all when you begin to train....

  • It was only a matter of time before someone used this as a jazz instrument and sang through it. Inventive but I still like jazz on the boehm-system flute better.

  • AWSOMENESS!

  • Great, the instrument is SO difficult!

  • Cool.. It reminded me of Jethro Tull.

  • :O Damn him! I can barely play, let alone stuff like this. Excellent stuff

  • Uau, que som!!! Como tudo que é oriental soa misterioso e extremamente agradável. Belissimo. Jandir Rigo

  • i adore how he blended traditional japanese and western music

  • Shakuzen all the way. I can barely blow ro. D:

  • Stunning! Thanks for posting this, I've added a link to it on my video blog!

  • Nice work.

Seems strange when any flute players are playing any verticle flute, we seem to do crazy things to it. Like making it a microphone...lol

    awesome demo!

  • my dad is obssessed with this...he bought one on ebay for 140-ish....-_-

  • That's nice. I like the sound and the beat! ^^
