As far as the operatic singing goes, Tarja had come progressively singing less in that style at each album. I'd say that choosing a non-lyrical singer was quite a natural choice, not a commercial one.

Now, if you're saying that the new singer isn't good, that's another story. I kinda like her in the album, not quite so live.

What's really ridiculous is when people compare Evanescence and Lacuna Coil as if they sound the same. They have two completely different musical styles. I've seen both live, and both are incredible. Two TOTALLY different musical styles. To compare them and criticize one against the other is silly. Cristina and Amy's vocal styles can't even be accurately compared one against the other. They sound completely different. Just my two cents .. thanks for the great video. LC is the bomb :)

I agree. I love both girls, and in different respects they beat out one another. Amy's voice has a better range than Christina's. But Christina and the band perform better because the entire band gets into it, not just Christina. Amy's usally the only one (no pun intended) who goes all out during a show.

I'm not saying I like Amy Lee better than Cristina, but you obviously have never seen a live clip of Evanescence. Amy usually doesn't sound good live because she moves around and head bangs TOO MUCH and she loses her breath. Both Cristina and Amy go all out AT EVERY SHOW, the difference is that Cristina can do all that and still sound amazing whereas Amy gets tired and doesn't sound as good.
