  • What a fantastic song... Thank you very much for sharing this. I have an 19yr old, 15yr old and 4yr old all singing this as I've played it so much..

This is a timeless classic which speaks out to all generations. Playing the strings of our hearts.

    Thank you redhotmountie

  • @markcliftonwilliams Thank you for your kind comments. I'm delighted that both you and your children like the song, as you say a timeless classic sung so beautifully by Danny Williams. Although this song is associated more with Andy Williams, I have always thought that Danny's version was the definitive version.Although, I will agree with others regarding Andy Williams version of the song 'The Impossible Dream', no one sings it better, he simply owns that song.

  • @redhotmountie

Danny's version is, undoubtedly, the best. Brilliant. Timeless.

  • @clive2677 I totally agree, Simply the best

  • Danny and I became good friends from 1999 to his death in 2005. We helped each out musically many times in that period, and played a lot of tennis (he always beat me!) I loved what Danny did to the chorus of my song Looking Inside... so I've posted it here, and I hope you enjoy it. Kind regards - Richard Lamplough

  • best by miles RIP Danny x

  • Yes i totally agree a beautiful song and a timeless classic and like yourself i to was not a teenager in the 60's, by the end of the 60's i was only 12.

  • Ta redhotmountie. My mums favourite song, played whn we put her to rest.I can now appreciate the song again without getting too tearful. Cheers

  • this music really so great, lovely great video also!

  • Just for the record Redhot, I agree with you totally. The classiest, the best, the definitive version.

What a shame Mr Williams' talent was blighted by so many personal problems and never really received the kudos it deserved. Thanks for posting.

  • Thank u for kind comments. Although i know many that will associate this song with Andy Williams, who also sang it well but i have always thought Danny's version was the definitive one.

  • I always thought Nat King Cole's version was the best. Although this version is very beautiful.

  • Love this rendition, great talent.

  • Lovely song, gorgeous video/film, how different life was then,,,,,

  • Thank u kindly

  • He has one of the clearest, best voices I've ever heard. It's really beautiful.

  • I most totally agree.

  • Couldn't agree more redhot. The best version of an incredible song.

  • Thank u kindly, i'm glad that u agree Danny's version was the best. Although as u probably already know, there will be many that disagree.

  • ostatnio Kochałem się przy tej piosence.....hmmmm było cudownie :-))jak zwykle z Tobą Kochanie!!!

  • i liked this version..my favourite version is the one by Louis Armstrong..cant find on youtube though

  • Such a wonderful version of this song and Audrey, the most classy, beautiful woman who ever liver on this earth....

  • simply the best

  • Danny Williams has the definitive version but I also love Connie Francis singing it. Just a great song.

    Terry.

  • Wonderful, magic and so sweet. Melodies thus will be always perpetual in the thoughts of the human beings. Thanks

  • awesome !

  • Thank u kindly

  • easily the best version, no argument.

  • Thank u kindly, i totally agree Danny's version was the Definitive One.

  • this is the best version

  • this is very pretty

  • Thank u kindly

  • i prefer this version...

  • ask the whole country (usa) or the whole world, i bet 80-90 percent prefer andy williams version. even frank sinatra's version beats this.

  • A nice version, but nobody....I mean no one, can hang with Andy Williams version. One thing that I noticed, that makes Andy's original song so warm and "homey", and to me just kind of puts me at the river's edge, is the way he says "waitin'" round the bend. Danny's version is more canned, when he over pronounces words like "waitinG" round the bend. I don't know if this makes sense, but Andy's is just more heart waqrming, puts you in the scene of a slow rollin', peceful river.

  • I thought Andy's version was fine but this is incredible!

  • Yes, it most certainly is

  • Breakfast at Tiffany's would be nothing without this song! Of all Hepburn movies, I like Roman Holiday and Sabrina best.

  • I first heard this version when I was around 10 in 1978. Clearly the best version by far!

  • I totally agree,Danny's version is unsurpassable

  • Thank you for taking the time to share and present this to us...to the world.

  • Thank u for your kind comments

  • This has always been my number one version. wonderful.

  • I agree most definately 'The Definitive Version' sung by the wonderful Danny Williams

  • this song touches parts other songs don't

  • I totally agree, just simply a wonderful song sung so beautifully by Danny

  • hey now i think that Andy williams has got a fantastic voice one of the very best he sings so effortlessly, but come on give this man his due this is HIS song and he sings it beautifuly, thank you Danny for a lovely song,oh and yes Audrey Hepburn mmmmmmm what man wouldnt so much beauty in one person shouldnt be aloud x

  • I agree Andy Williams has indeed got a great voice and i do like some of his songs and no one can sing them better, but regarding 'Moon River'in my humble opinion i still regard Danny's version as 'The Definitive One' so alas i think that we will have to agree to disagree on this one but thank you kindly for your comments.

  • well that is what i was trying to say!read it again, sorry for any confusion, this is in my mind the definitive version as well!now we have that out of the way can you fix me up with Audrey or at least a look alike lol

  • The incredible thing is that this was a hit for Danny Williams in 1961 so, since he was born in 1942, he was only 18 or 19 when he recorded it. I find it astonishing that one so young could phrase the song, exhibit a wide range of vocal colour, and give it such a superb quality as he does at that tender age!

  • Danny had such a wonderful voice and sung some great songs but i will always maintain that in my humble opinion his version of 'MOON RIVER' was 'THE DEFINITIVE ONE'

I hasten to add no disrespect to Andy Williams intended, who is also a great singer

  • Lovely song, lovely voice .. thanks for putting this up for us to hear !

  • Thank u Kindly My Pleasure

  • Brilliant song, and Audrey was, then, the most beautiful woman alive....

  • THANK U KINDLY,I AGREE ABOUT AUDREY

  • Unha das mellores actrices que coñezo de tódolos tempos.Un mito
