I like Ron Paul as the nomination for the Republican party. I agree with most of his ideals and voting record. I would like to continue to watch as this plays out. If he does win the nomination, I would be interested in who his running mate would be. I am concerned about his age. If you look at any former president they seem to age by 10-15 years after only a four year term. He is probably the only viable candidate that could be a contender and possibly win 2012. My opinion.

Reagan heated up the cold war and brought the US to the brink of nuclear war in the fall of 83. FDR kept us out of WW2 for better than 2 years until Japan bombed Pearl Harbor in 41. The end of the cold war came from visionary Russian leadership, not Reagan. You could probably make the argument that Johnson was worse then Clinton.

If you do some research you'll find that the income tax goes directly to the feds for interest on phoney money they print for our out of control government. With all of the "punting" on the budget going on right now, I have a feeling that nothing serious will get done (in terms of the deficit), because its basically political suicide. But, if we don't do anything...its only gonna get worse down the road...a lot worse...

Getting rid of social programs as a reason against Ron Paul, is propaganda. In the larger picture, ending the empire militarism, would end the borrowing and interest payments. That would stop the never ending rise in prices and lead back to gold backed money. You could afford to be independent, business competition would be open and equal. You wouldn't need any social programs. That's why there weren't any to begin with.
I will say I do like Paul a many issues; however, he does not believe that health care is an alienable right which I do believe it is. The constiution grant the government right to defend it's people against foriegn and domestic enemies. Illness is an enemy that attacks the body. Furthermore, if there's a plague or some type of outbreak his small government would not be able to defend us. Just look at Haiti and the Cholera outbreak. Despite that I will consider voting for him.

I like Ron Paul as the nomination for the Republican party. I agree with most of his ideals and voting record. I would like to continue to watch as this plays out. If he does win the nomination, I would be interested in who his running mate would be. I am concerned about his age. If you look at any former president they seem to age by 10-15 years after only a four year term. He is probably the only viable candidate that could be a contender and possibly win 2012. My opinion.

@Wonglow FDR was more than 60 years ago and he got a congressional declaration of war and had a legitimate war to fight. Reagan heated up the cold war and brought the US to the brink of nuclear war in the fall of 83. FDR kept us out of WW2 for better than 2 years until Japan bombed Pearl Harbor in 41. The end of the cold war came from visionary Russian leadership, not Reagan. You could probably make the argument that Johnson was worse then Clinton.

That would stop the never ending rise in prices and lead back to gold backed money. You could afford to be independent, business competition would be open and equal. I will say I do like Paul a many issues; however, he does not believe that health care is an alienable right which I do believe it is. The constiution grant the government right to defend it's people against foriegn and domestic enemies. Illness is an enemy that attacks the body. Furthermore, if there's a plague or some type of outbreak his small government would not be able to defend us. Just look at Haiti and the Cholera outbreak. Despite that I will consider voting for him.

I'm conservative on some issues, liberal on others.
1)The Constitution, Individual Liberty and Freedoms, are VERY important to me. The 'Patriot' Act is a fascist document.
2)Military must be HOME protecting OUR borders not dying in foreign lands as human shields for PRIVATE CONTRACTORS.
3)The 'War on Drugs' is a waist of money jailing non-violent offenders.
4)Fuck Bank Bailouts!
5)But, unlike Paul, I think Public Health Care, Fire & Cops are the only practical way to fund the inevitable.
