If you really like the band youll probably like the new sound and just roll along with it. Get over it, bands change! lol it's not he can't get to the note, it's just that note used in the part he says "into your arms" it's a falzetto or falcetto I don't know how it is spelled, and when you do a falzetto the notes are made like imitating some sound that is really hight-pitched so it doesn't sound with enough strenght. You have to consider also that the guitar is nearest than the voice in this video so there's no reason to sing that part in falzetto because anybody will hear it.
