I don't think one member of the band didn't have a musical orgasm during that last 2 min. Ryan Shaw & Mike Mattison were even grooving at 4:56! Most of the time they're posted in the back servin up some smooth notes but here they're getting their groove on! But seriously I say this truthfully when not one band member didn't have a musical climax; look at Oteil during Dereks slide section of the solo! He's headbanging! This is a mellow ass jam style band & they've got the stuff to get someone h

Its like jeweling a tiara upon the articulately-postured vocals, evident of Susan's endearment for sound.

Do you think this is the largest crowd they've played for ? Derek's playing here reminds me of Coltrane, "sheets of sound." Oteil's got the funkmasterdelic down to a T...!! Mike Mattison has an unmistakable voice, you know it's him as soon as you hear him sing. As for Derek and Susan... Well, what can be said about the most talented couple in music that hasn't already been said. I loved Susan's turn on the wah-wah, her solos are rockin' ! Thanks to the guys for some incredible music, they swing!

@d3lg0tti Oteil and Victor are VERY different. Victor is Derek's bass-playing counterpart, THE virtuoso in the biz that can take the spotlight under any condition and play something completely different every time that gets you going flawlessly. Oteil is a master at controlling the ebb and flow of a jam, and he chooses his times to come out into the spotlight very carefully but nonetheless with absolute perfection. Two great bass players, and but I gotta go with Oteil as well!

@43burnt you're right. Oteil had his time to shine with Aquarium Rescue Unit and his own project the Peace Makers, he was doing all kinds of crazy stuff like Victor back then. But now he's sooo in the pocket now..he has everybody groovin! Vic is cool and all...like you said its just a gimmick now. I've only heard him groove one time, and that is on India Arie's album where he got hired to play on her track "Summer". I dont know how long Vic will be able to pull of just being a "flashy" bassist
