I think that the "real hip hop" term is pretty solid. Well, there people might confuse it with the "keep it real" saying that is known to promote the gangsta rap ideals. Not that it originally is meant to mean that, but that's what it means to most people now.

the original is from the belgian jazzfunkfusion group Placebo from the album "ball of eyes"(1971) not to be mistaken with the rock group placebo. if you say that this beat is more uptempo and engaging the the "original" beat you should give props to marc moulin (fronman of placebo) who died last august i think, because of throath cancer ( he was a heavy smoker) only thing solar did was looping it in different patterns.
