One problem is that there's no way a 5-6 months old cub (the age you gave Kopa here) would have mane hair growing. Judging by all the canon facts vs. real life, cub Simba was 6-7 months old, so I really believe Kovu (and Kopa) were meant to be older, perhaps 9 months olds. Not that it mattered too much, especially as this is utterly fanfiction story, but just sayin' in the name of logic. ;D

@VampireOutlaw possibly, but have you seen the body of a 9 month old lion? there already big. they dont even grow their "tail tufts" until that age, so really, the whole movie would be thrown off then, just saying. they hair was really just given to bring out their personalities, you know? lions dont even have blue/green eyes, or dark black/brown fur in real life, so talking about their design features (in my opinon) doesnt really mean much :P it is considered fan fiction, but i tried to connect

@4yr7ryleeroo Well, Kovu IS at least some months older than Kiara because he was born while Scar lived and it takes a little time for nature to recover and another baby lion to be born. And a cub's tale tuft is actually fully formed by their 7th month. So I daresay Kiara was supposed to be 6-7 months old and Kovu about 9 months but just small due to lack of good food all his life. :)

Still, how could scar have "handpicked" Kovu when all he had on his side was the hyenas? the heyeans were also only there because promised them food and a good life. and in the musical, and originally meant to be in the movie but cut because of time, scar wanted to make Nala his queen so he could have cubs. its not that he couldnt. it seems weird he'd want cubs if kovu was around. :P

@4yr7ryleeroo I think in the official movie storyline we're just supposed to think there were lionesses that supported Scar and thus he hand-chose a cub. After all both movies were made by Disney, so unless otherwise told by the canon's creators that's how the story goes. :) They didn't cut the Scar/Nala bit b/c of time, they cut it out because "it was too creepy". And anyway, as it didn't happen in the film's content, the sequel can ignore the idea without contradiction. :)

@VampireOutlaw actually, almost all squeals are made by DisneyToon Studios which is a company owned by disney. it is disney, but almost as distant as pixar. in my opinion, they kinda fail with TLK2's plot.

but then again, the sequel has many messed up ideas surrounding zira and scar. in a few of the story books, it refers to her as "scars mate" yet it is stated on an official disney site

@4yr7ryleeroo I think the sibling claim was on TLK2's official site. But as it's not hosted by the film's creators but some random web site team, whatever the site says doesn't mean a thing. It's full of screaming information mistakes anyway, such as claiming Nala isn't in TLK1½ though she obviously is. And the storybooks are fanfiction so they either don't mean a thing.

Yes, they said it in a bonus material that shows the storyboard version of Scar demanding Nala to be his queen.

@VampireOutlaw them somehow xD un-like most "fans" (i wouldnt even really consider myself a fan but looking at much depth were getting into this makes me reconsider ;)

the thing that bothers me is all the plot holes the second one brings into the picture. the problem came about when they had to continue with another Shakespeare story (romeo and juliet) which just didnt match the characters from the first movie. of course, its just a childrens movie, so theres no need to get upset over it :P

WOW. This is great! See, I'm totally fed up with the whole "Zira murdered Kopa" bullshit because a.) it's completely NONSENSE to the sequel's content and b.) it never happened, yet people try to pass it off as official. BUT you still managed to totally entertain me with this.

This is beautifully and brilliantly done, very captivating video. Totally worth watching even though this story doesn't fit into the canon story. Thank you for sharing AND still acknowledging Disney's official situation.

He technically doesn't exist in the same universe as the books were written by someone else than the movies. Think of them as a published fanfiction, because they really have nothing to do with The Lion Kin 1, 2, or 1/2 save for sharing the same name.

It seems obvious that Kopa was born before Kiara, but in the second Lion King, Simba' Pride, Kopa was not mentioned. Hence my theory that Kopa was born before Kiara, but something had happened to him.....
