@jonaron29 In theory I don't think they are necessarily louder just a thicker or thinner in sound. I love em' live. The p90s have more punch but the rails have more bite if you get what I'm saying?
Nice demo, I can actually hear the differences and get the feel for the pickups. Sometimes in these demos people's weird playing and tones get in the way of actually hearing the gear. I am planning on putting some of these into a guitar of mine and this sealed the deal. I cant believe how nice the P90s sound.
@shulor9 I have a mid 80's Robin Ranger with H/S/H. Right now i have a series/parallel/single toggle for the hums, a 3 way for the neck/Neck bridge/bridge (like gibson), and a neck on/neck off/neck plus other pickups toggle. Sounds complicated but actually very easy to use. I will replace the series/single/parallel switch with the appropriate selector switching for the p rails.
Nice. Did you have to fit a new scratchplate or did the PRails fit into the holes left by the wide range humbuckers?
I have a '72 custom (not original) and thinking of hooking up some PRails and some triple shot mounting rings into it and not sure if I need a new pickguard.
@benbutterworth Yea, I had to custom order a Warmoth pickguard for about $40. The Fender widerange pups were a bit bigger. The P-Rails are the size of a standard humbucker. An no, I didn't have black doves before the P-Rails, just the original Fender widerange.
What made you want to switch out the wideranges for the new ones? I've always loved the fender humbucker a ton.

Oh yeah, is the series hum sound much louder than the singles? How about the volume difference between the rails and p90s in actual live use.
