basing on the way it behaved and how healthy it looked that is not a stray, just becuase somebody lets there cat out does not make it a stray and you should not take it home as more then likely that would be theift...
i keep begging my parents for a dog or cat and they just wont let me have one but i think theyre just still attached to the dog we used to have that died.. what do i do?
@lovedancerteller411 tell them to get over it like theyre going to tell u to get over it when ur cat dies. to parents, cats arent as important as dogs. cat is just like a dog. lol
id kept it and let it be a back yard cat, give it food and let it go and come as he chooses. id also put a collar on him so he doesnt get taken to a shelter and euthanized. a friendly cat deserves friendly treatment.
@angela1894 your mistaken, most people have the perception that cats are hissy and nasty when infact most of them love attention, they are social creatures. if they run then their most likeley ferrel or have been mistreated
I think it depends on personality of the cat and on specific conditions where the cat lives. And also good/bad experiences with people, closeness of contact with people. This year, I've met 5 cats they were friendly and never saw me before. Yes, their most common behaviour is to hide or run away, but it's nothing unusual if you meet a cat without marks of timidity. By the way, meeting such nice cat can make a fine day :-)
Reminds me of the stray that tried to move in with me (couldn't let it happen, I already had a very territorial, jealous, and temperamental cat in the house who would NEVER have tolerated a housemate) and ended up living on my ROOF for a month until I found a home for him (couldn't take him to the shelter, they'd have ended up killing him there.)
Now THAT was a cat who knew how to sell himself! (He'd always come running to greet me whenever he saw me, ect. - I hope I did right by him.)
We had a slightly overweight orange cat like that... he was an awesome cat. The only person he ever tried to run away from was my seven year old son, but that's cause my son most often wrapped him in a blanket and held on to him never letting him go.
My cat was abandoned by his previous owners when I first encountered him, about eight or so years ago. He was a kitten, hiding under my stepdad's truck to avoid the rain. I walked outside, and he just climbed up on my lap and rubbed against me. He was a cute, friendly thing.
We adopted him, and he's just a friendly critter. When I sit in my chair, he's on my lap seconds later.
someone should take that cat home, but first go to the animal shelter to see if he has a chip-some cat or dog owners have a chip implanted right on top near the neck with an I.D. number. This I.D. corrosponds to the owner's name, number and address. If you take this cat home, first have him checked in case he has a chip.
If not, please take him home! He needs food and water readily available to him. Considering how nice he is I highly doubt he'd have any troubles with other pets in the house.
This is how I got my cat. Stray in the ally near work wouldn't leave me alone so I tossed her in the car where she slept all night and I took her home.
nice, maybe i should spend more time out on the streets maybe i'll find a friendly cat too, it beats going to a pet store where u cant even tell if they're friendly or not, plus these kinds r free too hahha
lots of nice animals out there especially in bad neighborhoods. Welfare trash around where I work buy cats then they pitch them in the alley or they get booted out of the apartment and just leave the cat.
Its a shame and the worst part is that not many cats around here are fixed.
There was a white persian down here about a year ago I was trying to get.
That's the kinda cat you need to take home. Not just for friendship, but if a friendly cat is out on the streets, messed up kids will do messed up stuff to the poor thing.
@nhjo this happened to me at my dads car repair shop and we wound up keeping him after we saw some kids from the apartment complex across the street throwing sticks at it. He is now the shop mascot and lives a happy and full ife.
Not a lot of cats let you tickle and rub their tummy without clawing/scratching/biting;this one is unusual in that it does allow it without clawing/scratching or biting
Nice cat. He looks pretty content and well cared for -- probably somebody's cat -- but then what was he doing wandering around along in the park? Hmm.
many of your tom cats are pretty friendly.

That is unusual for a cat. They are not usually friendly, their natural instinct is to run and hide from strangers..
