Ok people I'm gonna reveal something. Even though Leonardo was an incredible painter, he did not represent exactly his models, he was limited by his art, as any other artist. Also the dimensions although they do not match that of the same body or that of a cloth arounds a body(the globe effect) they match that of a photograph. 3 to be exact- front, back , and face. Da Vinci quite possible used himself for the face to reproduce a "sacred relic" for his patrons the Savoy family. He called the camera oscura his artificial "ocularis" on his notes:-)

The Sroud of turin IS NOT FAKE. It passed the VP8 test. It cannot be a painting. Pollen samples from the Shroud suggest it spent the majority of it's years in Israel. The shroud of Turin is a fake clearly. I haven't got the space to go over the detail. The best advice I can give is LOOK. The most obvious it the image is flat - like a photograph. Think about it if U don't get it. The previous shroud was not the current one - study history. People made money out of gullible religious fanatics, using supposed religious artifacts, as they do today etc.

The image is not flat, it actually holds three dimensional information. You should actually check out the conclusions of the STuRP scientists. Rather than being proven fake, quite to the contrary, in the last two years it has come out that the carbon dating was in error because it was sampled from a piece of the cloth which was repaired in the 15th Century. Whether it is Christ or not who knows? But it is not a fake.
I don't see the comparison in those 3 faces at all. I am an artist and I see here very different features on all 3 of the faces. in the human face, even a hairline difference appears different. Leonardo's nose is much longer and more bulbous. The Mona Lisa image has a much smaller chin. The shroud image has larger eyes that are set higher.

Um dude carbon dating is used for things with carbon in them. I don't think cloth has carbon, so that means no carbon to date so obviously carbon dating will not work for this.

It is ALL out of proportion ( the head is too bug the arms and legs are too big). the back side of it is smaller that the front side, the image is not distorted, which would happen if a cloth was wrapped around a person (think about wrapping a cloth around a paint covered ball... it wouldn't produce a circle, it will be distorted). Da vinci used a "camera obscura" to burn his image onto is... he even (on record) took out the body of a crucified man with other dead bodies to study anatomy

Ok people I'm gonna reveal something. Even though Leonardo was an incredible painter, he did not represent exactly his models, he was limited by his art, as any other artist. It is obvious that if you compare his Mona Lisa and his self portrait, there are similarities. Not that he intended to represent the same person, but just because he used to draw human faces the same way.
The question of the shroud of Turin is ridiculous; come on, Leonardo, Jesus and any beard man in the world look alike!

I believe that Da Vinci based Mona Lisa's portrait on himself--that's highly credible, using it as a symbol for his feminine, homosexual side. I'm also inclined to believe that the Shroud of Turin is an early (the earliest?) example of photography, but I believe it predates Leonardo by a few centuries.

None of his inventions worked, I've seen probably the same shows you have on his tank, which they had to use modern methods to get it to move, two; his glider just dropped like a lead balloon etc;etc; in all his inventions tested they were either too heavy or just badly designed....but that doesn't take anything from his imagination...I have studied LDV and Michelangelo's works many years and I am pretty sure the Shroud is not either of their works/style

@Flagrum3 the shroud dates about 100-200 years before da Vinci was born. It would have been around when da Vinci was alive. Also the dimensions although they do not match that of the same body or that of a cloth arounds a body(the globe effect) they match that of a photograph. 3 to be exact- front, back , and face. Da Vinci quite possible used himself for the face to reproduce a "sacred relic" for his patrons the Savoy family. He called the camera oscura his artificial "ocularis" on his notes:-)

The Sroud of turin IS NOT FAKE. It passed the VP8 test. It cannot be a painting. Pollen samples from the Shroud suggest it spent the majority of it's years in Israel. To suggest the Shroud is fake just because of the carbon14 dating is retarded. Carbondating is a very sensitive process. No one could comprehend photography during the sixteenth century. It's just impossible. We know it's his artwork, usually because we find his fingerprints.

When it comes to the "Holy Shroud of Turin", it was just one of approx. 30 that existed around 1150, carbon-dating has dated it to approx. 1150, the guy on the oicture looks like a european from approx. that time, and modern DNA-research, archaeology and so on and so on has given absolute knowledge that NO-ONE in Israel 2000 years ago looked like that. : )

We can't tell what someone looked like from DNA with a 2 hour old blood sample, never mind 2000 year old bone sample.
We can get an idea, and only an idea of what an average person looked like in that region 2000 years ago, thats it.

@wdnole Well, one thing we do know for sure, is the average height of people down there back then 2000 yrs ago. It was almost a foot lower than the guy depicted on "the shroud".. So the romans wouldn't have had a hard time finding him, that's for sure. Hehe! : )

Scientific test were conducted on the shroud and there is no paint or any other substance other than blood on it. Not to mention that it pre-dates DaVinci! So for goodness sakes...GET A LIFE!

Its clear the shroud was a fake - It was an early form of photography .. that is why there is no paint etc. In addition .. there is no reliable evidence it pre-dates DaVinci (ie Carbon dating or radio metric .. check out the historical facts)
There are so many floors in the story if you contend the shroud is authentic etc. etc. Various people gain power and money from perpetuating the various myths, and they continue to do it because gullible people accept it ... (unfortunately)

@KingUser2008 lol- but you are wrong the shroud dates about 100-200 years before da Vinci was born. It would have been around when da Vinci was alive. Also the dimensions although they do not match that of the same body or that of a cloth arounds a body(the globe effect) they match that of a photograph. 3 to be exact- front, back , and face. Da Vinci quite possible used himself for the face to reproduce a "sacred relic" for his patrons the Savoy family.

The shroud of Turin is a fake clearly. I haven't got the space to go over the detail. The best advice I can give is LOOK. The most obvious it the image is flat - like a photograph. Think about it if U don't get it. The previous shroud was not the current one - study history. People made money out of gullible religious fanatics, using supposed religious artifacts, as they do today etc.
The comparisons are obvious. All I can say is your just silly if you get sucked in.

The image is not flat, it actually holds three dimensional information. You should actually check out the conclusions of the STuRP scientists. Rather than being proven fake, quite to the contrary, in the last two years it has come out that the carbon dating was in error because it was sampled from a piece of the cloth which was repaired in the 15th Century. Whether it is Christ or not who knows? But it is not a fake.

I don't see the comparison in those 3 faces at all. I am an artist and I see here very different features on all 3 of the faces. in the human face, even a hairline difference appears different. Leonardo's nose is much longer and more bulbous. The Mona Lisa image has a much smaller chin. The shroud image has larger eyes that are set higher.

Sorry but due 2 the shourd bieng around & not properly sealed carbon Dating is in effective! They have found many pollens from various centuries including the time of Christ! Also the Material is from that century! I Am not saying eiyher way but the science can contradict itself!

Um dude carbon dating is used for things with carbon in them. I don't think cloth has carbon, so that means no carbon to date so obviously carbon dating will not work for this.

It is ALL out of proportion ( the head is too bug the arms and legs are too big). the back side of it is smaller that the front side, the image is not distorted, which would happen if a cloth was wrapped around a person (think about wrapping a cloth around a paint covered ball... it wouldn't produce a circle, it will be distorted). Da vinci used a "camera obscura" to burn his image onto is... he even (on record) took out the body of a crucified man with other dead bodies to study anatomy

They proved that there was medivle cotten mixed in it from a repair from about the time the carbindating shows.
