Truly one of my favourite songs from the album. I've known about FTM for quite some time, but I'm just starting to really get into them. This album is… Hard to put into words. It's a masterpiece.
I have seen them twice, with the privelge of meeting them the second time. These guys are the coolest, nicest guys you will ever meet. Darroh is an amazing talent and has flashes of Mike Patton brilliance in him. Amazing lyrics that run so deep it's sick. Musically you can hear some really solid influences pour through, personally, I hear Beatles in one song, Queensryche is another, but that's me. The phrasing in some ot the lyrics are genius as well, these guys really have a gift and it shows!!
@oaklandrmoss18 Flashes... just flashes. No one can compare to Patton. I just meant that Darroh has a very experimental nature about him, which reminded me a bit of Patton.
@vaderland Fair enough. Im just starting to get into these guys... The singer does seem to have a good range, i just dont know if i would put him on the same level as Patton as of yet
@SplitThoughtFilms They are on Serjical Strike Records. The Record label of Serj Tankian who is a highly-praised musician/producer, often described as the modern-day renaissance man. If you were not to know who he is then you've probably been living in a cave for the past decade or so. And with him managing/producing/advertising their stuff, I'm pretty sure they don't need all that much exposure after that. They are working with one of modern music's most notorius professionals in the industry.
@DeanWinchesterRules About small town gossip I have heard. 'Mountains out of molehills' 'You oughta be ashamed to trade in your heirlooms, For an all day black market parade' the black market parade being newspapers or somewhere to sell your story. Bold faced type explains the newspapers and the fact that it must have been winter... indicating that more story spreading had occurred. Celebs can obviously come into this and I think darroh intertwines meanings, hope this helped and made sense!
@arronmetallica I've heard something to that effect too. I also think the "grand prize, a slap in the face" lyric suggests something that wasn't worth the trouble and was more of an insult when you eventually reached it.
Favorite song by fair to midland! I just discovered them 2 days ago! How are they not way popular?

Their not signed to System of a Down label as SOAD don't have one :)
It's Serj Tankian founded, separate label, called Serjical Strike Records ;)
