@SuperInline6 You can't really compare them? I don't want to drive my Fleetline 49 at winter so then the volvo is perfect...but in the summer the chevy is pulled out from the garage!
@TheOneDogmaster You should go to Power Big Meet in Västerås, one of the biggest if not the biggest American car meet in the world, this year there where well over 15.000 cars!
hi guy.blows me away,if you didnt know you guys were in sweden i would think i was at hot august nights in reno.will send something of it.drive fast but safe.very cool.
looks like a great time! questions...first, how the hell does all that american iron end up in sweden? second, what's with all the blowers? cool vid, thanks
the questions do not ask "if", they ask "why and how." in other words, how did swedes end up falling in love with an american cultural phenomenon? are hot rods now in sweden because a group of swedes imported them? and blowers...this video shows a disproportionate amount of blower driven engines for a typical hot rod event. was this a race event, too? if so, then it would make a little more sense. still, there were a LOT of them in this video. swedes must have a lot of spare money!
This was just one of many car meet for american cars, at the biggest US car meet approximately 10,000 american cars show up.
This was not a real race event but you could race your car on a track if you wanted, and talk to other owners of american cars and have fun.
I and many other swedes like the american culture.
We have imported US cars to Sweden since the 1970´s so they are very ordinary here, hot rods, pick up, muscel cars etc and as you saw some of them also have blowers.
Some call Sweden the 51'st state, we're pretty much the worst victims of your filthy cultural imperialism :-P Cars, movies, language (pretty much everything foreign aired here is subtitled instead of dubbed - several generations have learned english watching american movies from an early age), we dig it all over here :-)
This event catersmainly to owners of old race cars, hence the abundance of blowers and other hi-perf paraphernalia. A real treat to the eyes/ears!

I'm not a fan of street rods but I quite like 0:57, more of an original/rat rod guy
But 3:20 is awesome
I never realised how big hot rodding is in Sweden, seems like it might even be bigger than here in the UK
