  • Great review, make me want to buy one too....

  • can i use this for other arcade games that arent fighting?

  • I wish there was a fightstick edition of SFIVAE for the PC. We PCers have to buy the XBox-Fightstick separately, fortunately they work with windows. But, whatever: The best fighting game available has to be played with a propper fightstick, no matter the cost. Great unpacking, i love to be informed by actual gamers and especially experienced ones. Way better than just watching two hands in a POV-cam and listening to a single, tiring voice.

  • @thavador Console players have to buy the stick separately too because the game doesn't come with the stick.

And for some people the default console game pad or even a keyboard is all they need to play fighters. Not everyone needs to spend $100+ on a stick to play fighters unless they want to be able compete in arcade tournaments like SBO.

  • @lilaznkid265 problem is: some combos and even finishers require a fightstick - for example: play chun-li with a keyboad or a XBox-Controller, you won't be able to use Chun-Li's Super Move precisely. At least i wasn't able, it was allways luck with such mediocre game controll devices.

  • @thavador The 360 pad is indeed not very good for fighters, but charge motions are pretty braindead easy on a keyboard. Wolfkrone has been able to make high level C.Viper execution work on a PS2/PS3 pad, so I know that anything is possible on pad and that an arcade stick is not required.

However, I do think Wolfkrone is more of an exception than the rule. Buying an arcade stick can definitely help but you have to spend some time in training mode retraining your muscle memory to use it.

  • @lilaznkid265 true, there will be lot of training and losing against randoms first till a fightstick-starter get's back on track after playing a few years with normal controllers. i've played beat'em'ups with keyboards, virtua fighter 2, fx fighter... but it was allways a little mess, i've tried it with street fighter 4... and it just didn't work out for me. you are able to alter your movement speed with controller crosshairs or fightsticks, with just WASD you can't. it's only 100% or 0% speed.

  • @lilaznkid265 however - in one thing keyboards are best: executing special moves and complex combos. just because keyboard keys don't care if they are slightly or fully pressed and hitting keys by accident is much less likely to happen with a keyboard. that's why i sometimes switched to keyboard during a fight if i really needed Chun-Li to perform the special move precisely.

  • Mortal Kombat's is better.

  • I got mine on the way!

  • Ugly ass nerds

  • @smartspick Were you hoping for some pretty boys that you can jerk off to?

  • @DoomTra1n Yes i was

  • Im pretty sure if i hide my passport,id,or credit card of any sort it would get stolen along with this stick!LMAO

  • I have the TE version and it works great for PS3 games, but will not work with a PS2 game being played in a PS3 system. Very frustrating. For a stick this expensive, you would think that it would be compatible with all PS1, PS2, and PS3 games played on a PS3 system.

  • Does this fightstick have a square gate on the joystick? i hate those -_-

  • @Misund3rst0od i believe they do, but you can change it for like ten bucks....it will void the warranty though

  • @Misund3rst0od If you don't like the square gate, just install an American stick on it like Alex Valle did on his.

  • @RSXemperor85 Valle did not install an American joystick in his TE, he installed a Sanwa bat top and thread adapter on the stock Sanwa joystick. American joysticks and buttons will not fit in the TE case.

  • DO this work with MvC2? T_T

  • @200zero yes it does

  • @OniKai2 SWEET!!!

  • are fightsticks really worth worth buying?

  • @JistKyle If you're commited to learning street fighter and how to implement all its mechanics, then yes. And if you DO plan on buying one GET THIS ONE OR THE ROUND 2 VERSION OF IT. They are both amazing and play REALLY accurate. NO LAG because its plugged. Don't go cheap and "try it out" because the cheap ones suck (obviously)

  • @TheGreatXavier I bought the round 2 fightstick just waiting for it being deliverd

  • @JistKyle 8D welcome to the brotherhood, brother.

  • Only on a Street Fighter joystick video can there be a flame war -.-

  • Alex Valle looks embarrassed to be there, an will someone please shoot that Asian!

  • @biomat Alex Valle got that i should be getting laid look in his face but instead im here with these two dick heads

  • @FPietros yes it is commin from me, troll. and the numbers represent something

  • @69sins Troll

  • shit i want that stick, but it's so expensive :/

  • @mikr0bas got mine for 60.00

  • @xxCoolbreeze where did you got it ? ebay?

  • @mikr0bas Gamestop the store manager gave me a great deal on it.

  • works for pc and ps3 xbox 360 and yes it works with any fighting game

  • if u wanr a american style stick happs parts call this number 1-714-839-9770 it's in californis they make good american stick

  • i have 2 round 2 and this one, they are solid sticks mass and te's are the best

  • Want one sooooooo bad.

  • top stick and I need this for a few other games like everybodys golf wt/ TW 10 and I guess it works ok?

  • Does this work for any other fighting game? ... maybe like Street fighter x Tekken.

  • @fpsexcellence yea its a general fightstick but it has a sf4 cover.

  • pls bring some here we know that arcade stick is excelent stick we want to experience the game whit tahta stick

  • could anybody import in philipines some arcade stick of sf4 t.e. for ps3, there are so many players of ps3 here. stores here only have sticks for xbox

  • @adolfz2180 where i live, it's just the other way around :(

  • 150 euro is alot for me atm, but I'm getting one. I play Street fighter 4 since it came out. Till now I used the 360 controller. But I'm done. I need an arcade stick to evolve.

  • Does anyone know if the ball at the top of the joystick is suppose to spin? If i hold the shaft stationery it will still spin. Is that how its suppose to be?

  • if anyone wants to donate an arcade stick to an up and coming street fighter player plzzzzzzz msg me!!!!!!1

  • can you play pac man with it? =D

  • yeah do any of these work for the PC?

  • omfg, while watching this video at 6:32 i paused because my doorbell rang. My fightstick came 2 days earlier than I expected :D

  • @Th3James lol how awesome is that...

    congrats ^^

  • 2:48 I am a complete noob about good fight sticks but just listening to those button presses, I can tell that the TE with its Sanwa buttons is so much more accurate and durable than the Hori Fighting Stick 3, which is so much more accurate and durable than the SE.

  • Could i play street fighter collecion 2 on PS3 with this fightstick? Could this fighstick works on a ps2?

  • can u use this with Super Street Fighter 4

  • @SnlpErlsNaStY yes, you can use this with any fighting game or any ps3 game for that matter.

  • @Rigelmao Oh nice im gonna order mine from amazon for the Xbox360. thanks for the reply

  • @SnlpErlsNaStY by ps3 game i meant any game whoopsy. anyways, it's just a controller so you can play most games with it but it doesn't have all the sticks xbox has

  • @Rigelmao Ah ok thanks dude

  • @SnlpErlsNaStY you can use this fight stick with any fighting game for your video games system..even regular non fighting games..though it was specifically designed for the street fighter games.

  • lies it does not have all the characters on the back of the stick it is missing dan hibiki from the back of it

  • Hey guys I wanted to know should I buy se fightick and mod it out or should I buy te stick.I want to know which is cheaper and I also want to know should I buy a stick becuse I havent used a fightstick in a while. But It looks more fun plz reply.

  • If you buy the SE and mod that, it will be roughly the same price as a TE which has the Sanwa parts already installed. So if you got the money for TE just go ahead and get that since you will be spending roughly the same amount of money anyway.

  • yeah i'd just say buy the TE. If you mod the SE you'll be spending more cause of how much the parts are and shipping. Plus, the box is bigger on the TE so your hands rests easier

  • @kairaiuakc I was gunna buy either this, or the Hori EX2. Which would do you think?

Btw, i'm only asking you because you seem like you know what you're talking about. xD

  • @xThunderxWolfx depends on if you're willing to put out some money. the buttons and stick feel more comfortable to me. and i love having the bigger box because i love resting my wrists on the box. makes it easier to pull off moves. quality-wise madcatz kills that fight stick. buttons are more responsive and stick feels good. some people put seimitsu buttons instead of sanwa. both awesome buttons but the sanwa feels more sensitive to me which i like. if you're gonna go for hori i'd go with the

  • Is there a way to switch it to the right hand layout like on the SE stick?

  • Comment removed

  • U can only play fighting games, cuz if you want to use this for like... gears of war, gears of war needs the 2 joysticks, one to move another for aiming.

  • Gonna be getting this in on Friday to replace my Hori EX Pro 2. I've had the Hori for about 2 years, and it started off okay but has gradually worn down a lot. I can play charge characters no problem on it, but executing smooth, continuous curve motions, such as QCF, is ridiculously hard.

  • The ps3 version also works on PC. I use it in windows XP.

  • i've heard the 360 version does too, all you have to do is install a driver

  • @geskes what motherboard/chipset do you have?

  • @kar0x ASUS P6T DELUXE V2 / I7-920 / WIN XP SP3

  • have you guys ever heard of the turbo being a lot slower than it should be?

  • Never heard of that "problem". Nobody honestly should use the turbo anyway because you will be learning links improperly. Plinking makes 1 frame links already make that easy as heck and its not too hard to get a hang of.

  • well i'm just lazy and don't want to have to press a button 5 times to do a link. and if i pay $150 i'd like to use every feature i paid for.

  • and plus i don't use it in a match just for the trials

  • If you just use it to get those nasty links from characters you dont know then I can understand that.

But knowing how to execute your main characters moves "properly" and consistently is important especially if you happen to a tournament. Since turbo feature is generally banned.

  • well duh it's banned.

  • Ah teh sarcasm. However you have to understand that not everyone knows this because SF4 brought a lot of people into fighting games. Thus I just pointed it out just in case.

  • street fighter 4 is cool but marvel vs capcom is cooler

  • @kairaiuakc Pfft overated, unbalanced. I hope mvc3 is more balanced

  • @asnlunatic hopefully super sf4 will be rad

  • works on pc?

  • the xbox 360 version works on pc

  • thanks im going for one of these babies ;']

  • @lenneth3 it should. Well the xbox 360 does anyway.

  • @lenneth3 I know for sure the 360 one does not sure about PS3.

  • u bought it already so i dont care. i love it by the way. it truly is a great stick

  • does this arcade stick play other games?

  • Comment removed

  • technacly its still a remote so id guess so

  • Yes it plays other games, think of the arcade stick as just another gaming controller but in a different shape.

  • so can I play Halo or COD with this? lol

  • @MetaIJim Well technically you can, but why would you?

Its best designed for fighting games and some older arcade titles (Teenage mutant Ninja Turtles, etc)

  • I'm just asking if you could

  • isn't that guy on the right from the pure pwnage show?

  • lmao dave

  • No, not all asians look alike.

  • Well, then let's put you on your own in that small room with the 3 of them so you can tell them face to face what you just said, keyboard warrior.

  • The guys in that room are all respectable Street Fighter experts, unlike a lowlife piece of trash like you.

  • Get the PS3 Real Arcade Pro. 3-SA instead of the TE stick.

  • do you guys thumb's down the comment?? he's right the sa's better cuz the stick isnt too loose like the te

  • thats funny but no ur quite rong

  • i dont know why people gave u thumbs down, 3 was better

  • you did the voice over for kermit the frog you did dont tell me you didnt..... lmao

  • i got a HRAP3 instead the TE stick was just to expensive and where i live (australia) is very hard to get a TE.

just got the sanwa buttons for the HRAP3 feels perfect now :D

  • I prefer my Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 white edition

  • This Stick is THE BEST! You can even hook it up to your computer and play M.U.G.E.N or MAME or other emulators. You dont even have to download any drivers or anything. Also Alex Valle is kewl.

  • ALEX VALLE

  • (cont) I'm not too fussed with quality as i know how dificult at first it was on a keyboard and now how good i am. But i want something to last years. price isnt a concern but i dont want to have to buy it again.

As long as it's above keyboard quality i'm happy if it's durable

  • Hi guys i'm currently playing sf4 on pc with a keyboard, and it's dificult but i've managed to play fairly effectively, However i dont think i'm going to get much better anytime soon as the game just doesnt play well on a keyboard.

And so i am looking for an alternative. I dont care what it is but it MUST BE DURABLE. So just what is the most durable alternative to SF4? I have heard of the sticks breaking after a few weeks, What is the best solution that will work well for years?

  • You must be referring to the SE sticks with are made with MadCatz clones of Sanwa parts.

The TE stick is possibly the toughest stick out in the market. The closest alternative would probably be a HRAP3, but that comes with Hori buttons and not Sanwa.

  • So the TE comes with sanwa parts and Hrap3 comes with hori?

If so what parts are better ?

Also could you give me exact models for both?

i found the hrap3 one i think is it this?

Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 Stick HRAP3

selling for 128 US where i'm in australia so it's going to be very pricy.

But tell me the exact model for the TE stick though. Otherwise ill save up for the Hrap3.

  • Sanwa >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hori

The item that you want is the Madcatz Street Fighter IV Tournament Edition Fightstick.

  • I think the HRAP3 has a Sanwa stick but Hori buttons. The TE is all Sanwa. Also the HRAP3's button layout looks odd since the two extra buttons are slanted downwards while the TE has the extra buttons are straight so you can play Japanese or USA style.

They both have quick disconnects so you could just buy Sanwa buttons for the HRAP3 and it'll be like the TE (but not quite :P)

  • what was the warranty for ppl who lives at europe? didn't hear that part well

  • He said two years.

  • This stick costs £149.99 in UK which is like $246.48 USD and $284.27 CAD

    how does this work lol

Im going canada soon so will probably pick this up no problem =] will make a video too.

  • Ebay has them cheaper item 400059130189 is $149, shipping is extra of course but would still be cheaper than in the UK. Having a TE in a store in Canada is highly unlikely.

  • alot of ebgames have them now

  • haha, good luck with that, it's sold out in almost all retail stores in canada.

  • Just so you know you can't order this off of Amazon in Canada but you can order it from the Capcom store and you can even use PayPal.

  • I dont think I said there would be a "Huge difference" between the modded SE stick and the TE price. I posted that for people who may have a hard time finding TE versions to let them know its an easy to mod the SE version and that it feels the same. I get Sanwa sticks for only $20 and buttons for less than $2 a button. Was just trying to help get info out there, but thanks for the troll.

  • Try downloading xpadder, you have to pay now but there are ways around that b cough t cough. I had to do that with my HRAP 3. I don't know where the guy gets 60 for stick and buttons, I paid around 35-40 for a stick and 6 buttons. The TE is also 150 to 180 isn't it? That difference is almost enough for a new game like Blazblue or KOF12.

  • Ps3 TE and SE sticks are not compatible with PC. After downloading the ps3 controller drivers for PC I tried 3 different PS3 sticks on MY pc and they didnt work at all. xbox 360 versions of both TE and SE sticks however, work fine on PC with no problems. be sure to get official microsoft xbox360 drivers.

Dont have $150 to drop on a TE? The SE is easily mod friendly. Get a SE version and swap the parts out with Sanwa parts. It's easy and works great.

Play 3rd strike online all day @ GGPO

  • se stick = 69'99

sanwa buttons and joystick = 60

    total 129'99

    te stick = 139'99

    not really a huge difference

  • You have to dl a driver for some computers...some PS3 TE are plug and play with pc...

  • @6:32 why the hell would i choose to store my id or passport in the back of it?

I'm pretty sure if a burglar broke into my home and saw the stick he'd say "hey, cool arcade stick! looks 'spensive! I'm having it!" - So now I have no arcade stick, a stolen identity and my passport has been sold to a libyan terrorist...

  • I'm sure they mean when traveling to long-distance tournaments. Since you would need proof of identity for going through with registration, having it in the stick's back compartment, knowing that your arcade stick is going to be (or should be, at least) on hand and immediately accessible at all times, would make the registration process a lot smoother. Or if you just finished your qualifier pools at EVO and want to go straightaway to grab a stiff drink to celebrate, haha.

  • I just got my TE stick for $150! Im so happy, this is my 1st arcade stick and it's good to know I have a high quality product!

  • Alex Valle reminds me of Ray Romano

  • lol ur right

  • guess these are still being made. I walked into Gamestop and saw 1 Ryu fight pad for the ps3 and the TE for the Xbox. I picked up the TE. Super excited!

  • Is the X360 TE Stick also PS3 compatible?, because it has a USB cable and it might work on PS3 aswell

  • no

    -the 360 MadCatz TE works with the 360 only(or PC also, i don't remember atm);

-the PS3 MadCatz TE works with the PS3 only(or PC also, i don't remember atm)

  • gettin mine in 2 weeks!!!!

  • I want one

  • I'm stuck with this fucking ex 2, I need to get TE stick ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSAP

  • meee toooo!!! >:(

    need to get this!!!!!

  • i have a question about the street fighter 4 fight sticks . Ok i was told the SE fight stick was square when you move the stick I was wondering is the TE square also when you move the stick or is it round .....

  • all japanese sticks are square.

  • i think the TE has a square gate similar to the SE.

  • I have the same question as MvCZERO. Can we play other games with this stick??

  • yeah you can play other fighting games with it

  • Theres no point playing other games with this stick. because is going to be soo difficult. expacily an fps game you have to keep changing the direction to ls dp rs. u cnt jus use the stick to camera move if u no what i mean but for fighting this shit is perfect but apart from that no need unles u like football games and that this is perfect for a football game too

  • Oh, look--it's Daigo's American nemesis.

  • It was a great review but I only have one question to this SFIV joystick I was wondering would it be able to play any arcade games for the 360? for example UMK3 and Marvel vs Capcom 2 coming out in the summer?

  • yes

  • ya it works for all fighting games

  • Nice review, thx.

  • jimmy sounds nervous

  • please dont damage the shiny box (with a cool smell of "NEW")

  • lol how true

Mine arrived a couple of days ago. The box has a very strong smell to it.

  • Jimmy Nguyen looks like Chow Yun Fat

  • WOW ur right lol

  • haha yeah he does

  • ill be the third to agree with you
