You're forever the optimist. We have to seriously get some training googles. I inadvertently perforated one of those Cold Steel rubber training blades through one of my buddies eyes! I felt like crap. He still loves me though. No permanent damage. I've had a travel wrench. Different sizes available if you press him enough.
I perfer a Aluminium trainer because with a Aluminium trainer blade will shine like a real knife plus you can pratice techinues using the flate of the blade which you can't do with a rubber knife
However these rubber trainers are good for survival war games or fast sparring with eye protection
A fencing mask is the best way to go when doing fast work plus with a fencing mask you can work against face and keck stabs
@Krlwow ...Are you referring to the balisong looking one. It's a "Baliyo" it's a collaboration between Spyderco and fisher space pen. Pretty much a cool novelty item it came out over a year ago.
Even though I don't need anyone to convince me to train, that's a great instruction video JT. I hope you don't mind my saying, but I could do without the background music--its just distracting, IMO.
i agree the main reason why i watch his vids is because i love his thoughts on things and i find the music does drown him out a little but another great vid...keep em coming

great vid dude wouldnt realy use a baliyo as a trainer but get a cheap butterfly knife tap the blade works fine for me till i get my bm40tr
