@shermanslave People are saying this cause their right. That's not what a Cairn Terrier is supposed to look like. I have one and so do most of these other people. They should know! Come on, you do have to say your "Cairn Terriers" hair look weird for that type of breed. If he's a cross then I can understand. But according to you and the rest of the world, he's not. So.... Sherman has wicked hair for a Cairn! But you wouldn't care I guess.

wow i love how people are telling YOU how to take care of YOUR dog...anyways mine will eat a good setting of a meal and finish. then right after finishing will start running and playing. after a few minutes of running and playing she will stop dead in her track and just belch. its so funny shes such a pig

I am a dog groomer myself. There are people out there that prefer their dogs to be shaved...it's all personal preference. Obviously, the breed standard is to hand strip a Cairn, but it's no big deal if it's a pet.

If the dog is matted from lack of brushing, then it needs to be shaved...matted fur can be extremely painful for dogs. A lot of people have a false misconception that shaving their dogs keep them cooler. That is not true. A dogs fur keeps them cool and warm.

@pitbull592 Yes I agree but your saying Sherman had matted hair so she shaved him? According to her she only did it for style. Me personly, I don't like it that much FOR A REASON. That's not what the breeds supposed to look like. :3

It's OK to clip a terrier if it's hot or if long hair in some way impedes the dog. We have to clip our Cairn short now and then too. Matted hair is sometimes a problem. No mistaking that head - a very cute Cairn!!!!
