  • another good example where the climb thrust is higher than the taxeoff thrust ^^ :)

  • @eViLI3001 Very true!! Thanks for the comment...

  • 777+GE90 aint nothing better than that!

  • @skbenergy Hard to beat!

  • Just Power ! Class

  • @TheSHAWOFIT Thanks very much!

  • GIGANTIC ENGINES!!! This makes the A330s RR engines look like to pieces of well, tubes.

  • @HamdhanA330 Haha very true!

  • How could anyone dislike this video

  • It was this quiet right? Some damn fool says the magnificent GE90 is the loudest engine and I strongly disagree with this as my proof.

  • @EmadIV To hear the full power of the GE-90 you either need to be outside, or behind the engine when on board the aircraft! It is seriously loud, also this wasn't a very heavy load so they would've used a de-rated thrust setting, so no full power! :)

  • @ek433

Actually, a week ago I just came off a flight on a 777-200ER and I was sitting in seat 55 :( (behind the wing) It was at least quieter than the Rolls-Royce Trent 895 in particular :)

  • @ek433 "To hear the full power of the GE-90 you either need to be outside, or behind the engine when on board the aircraft! It is seriously loud, also this wasn't a very heavy load so they would've used a de-rated thrust setting, so no full power! :)"

I have to emphasize this, I just got off a 777-200ER with GE90s and oh God on the noise. It was a full-power takeoff, but went almost silent in just a few minutes.

  • the engines sound different

  • The sound of power being added is just the application of climb thrust from T/O thrust.

The GE engines have a huge amount of thrust, so much so that the assumed temperature de-rate can be less than climb thrust.

On a short AKL-MEL sector, this is almost always the case.

    Yours Truely

    Current EK 777 pilot

  • @haughtney Thanks very much for the insight!!

  • @haughtney wats de-rate

  • @HamdhanA330 is the operation of a machine at less than its rated maximum power :)

  • i dislike the fact that emriates decided to put 10 seats in a row in economy, not the usual 9, but ITS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

  • @LunaticLucario It's a shame, but becoming the norm these days, AirNZ's new 77W's have 10 abrest as well :( Thanks for the comment!

  • @ek433 yes, and so duz japan airlines i think, but teh 77W's are still pro!

  • @LunaticLucario Most have 10 ...

  • GE90-115B, Wingflex, B77W.. it couldn't get any better than this. Plus the awesome spoolup sound! Was this filmed from seat 10K?

  • @AuliaHarun Thanks, pretty close, it was 9K! The spool is an awesome noise haha

  • Excellent footage. Cannot get over how big the engines are.

    Very entertaining.

  • @manitogata Thank you! I know! They are massive! Lots more footage of them to come!! :)

  • Did he increase power at 3:44?

  • @Rakim8 Yeah the pilots did. Not too sure why, they might have been given an unrestricted climb up to the cruise altitude?

  • @ek433 Haha....i'm sure "the pilots did".....here I was thinking it was one of the passengers lol.

I don't know either but it definitely sounds good.

So glad they've got the newer 77Ws operating ex AKL now instead of the older ones.

  • @Rakim8 Hahaha, just checking ;) I love the sound, have a few more vids with that beautiful noise too! Yeah the this was A6-ECN delivered 09!

  • @ek433 The pilot had to increase thrust to meet the climb speed or else the plane would stall (a321 pilot)

  • @cristof1357 Ahh thank you. What airline do you fly for?

  • @ek433 im currently an first officer employed by jetblue

  • @cristof1357 Well you are obviously not a pilot for JetBlue as they don't fly the A321.

  • @ek433 sorry for the error a320 pilot the a321 and a320 resemble very close and with the spool up from those CFM engines it really hard to find a difference in them

  • What date was this vid made?

  • @phantomworks23 This video was taken on the 7th December NZ time. Hope this helps :)

  • @ek433 Yes it was thanks :-)

  • WOW another awesome clip from ek433 and dam your starting of the clip is realy nice and u must love you Boeing 777-300ER jet engines, but were do u always get the money from to go on all these flights to Australia?

  • @DAVIDgretener Thanks very much! Haha, I didn't disembark in Australia ;) Lots more videos to come, hold tight! :P

  • @ek433 hey um just one other thing do u ever get to go into the cockpit while the airline is in the air

  • @DAVIDgretener No, ive never been in a cockpit in the air since before 9/11, sad thing really.

  • @ek433 oh ok that sucks, iv managed to in the airbus A380-800

  • @DAVIDgretener Oh wow, haha don't tell EK HQ! I managed it into the cockpit in Dubai and Sydney on the EK 380 :)

  • @ek433 hahaha lucky you!!

  • Awesome! I'm flying to Dubai from Auckland in just over a week. EK413 then EK406.

  • @ek433

Awsome! :D I'll keep an eye out! Have a good one!

  • @EK433B77W Cheers mate :)

  • I am wondering... Why didnt you choose the A380 flight? The business class seats are much more comfortable and there is a bar and lots of privacy...

Very good video, as usual. =)

  • @emiratescrew A valid point and there are a few reasons, 1. We're a big fan of the 77W and personally I like the lie flat seat better on the 777's. 2. We try to provide diversity to our viewers! ;) 3. It's cheaper to fly on the 777 routes! Thanks

  • @ek433 I as well prefer the performance of the 77W and it is incomparable to that of the A380. In terms of Engine sound and Power, that is. However, I would still say that the seats would be better there and the bar would be an experience. I respect your comment on the price difference, it is very much cheaper.

And, I would like to thank you for caring about your faithful viewers. I really like your videos. =) Cheerio!

  • Nice! Love the sound! ... and how the wing tips bend when taking off!

  • @jplaforge Thanks! The spool is awesome and the wing flex incredible!!!
