Thankyou very very much .

  • I have a lot of trouble elastic threat shirring for some reason my machince can not make the cloth gather. What am I doing wrong?

  • you just saved my ass a pair of good leggings because the threading came loose around the elastic casing, so i got mad and tried to fix it, ended up opening all the seams around the casing and had no idea how to fix it. Your seriously amazing for sharing your knowledge with us lol. im guna go fix my leggings now lol thank youuu

  • Can the next sewing basics video be on zippers? I'll be practicing with elastics til then. o(^▽^)o

  • If you know how to knit, do you think you could do a tutorial on it?

  • ughhhhh elastic thread i wish it would like me as much as i like it!!!!!! practice practice practice!!

  • Did you make the yellow swimsuit?! like so she can see!

  • Have any of your garments ever fallen apart because of bad sewing or something??

  • @rastagirl194 I go to school where I am taught nothing but perfection. if you sew following ready to wear rules it holds up just as well and sometimes even better than what you buy at the store. Sometimes I get a bit annoyed with "DIY" get's correlated with bad quality.

  • Yo are Wunderful *____*

    And your Videos <33

  • Thank you for the gathering and sheering difference explanation!!!

  • thank you!

  • Amazing! No one else gives info like this that Ive seen! :3

  • Very informative <3 thanks!

  • Do you back stitch when shirring?

  • @XpoldingToast normally you just sew in a loop and sew over the start about 4-5 stitches..if you don't loop around...you will have to back stitch once or twice....sometimes I don't..I take it out and I hand tie for a nicer look.

  • 2:28 I spy your engagement ring! Gorgeous! <3

  • thanks for this, it will be very useful :)

  • could you use elastic to ruche? I've been looking everywhere and asking everyone but it seems ruching is a rarely known technique :(

  • @taintedfangs You can sew a seam with the longest stitches (make sure not to fasten the thread on either side) then pull on both threads on each end (over and underthread). This should make ruches, spread the ruches evenly. Then sew a regular seam (do fasten the thread this time) to lock down the ruches. Then you can remove the first seam.

This wont be elastical in any way...

  • Thank you!!

  • If there's a love button i will click that. Thanks so much. I'm just about to add elastics to my kids pants.

  • I really appreciate you making this video! Thank you so much. It'll be a quick and useful future guide.

I've only worked with elastic on one gathered skirt's waistband so far, and it was quite painful. :( I didn't use a long enough strip of elastic, so the first time I tried on the skirt it felt like it was trying to slice me in half! Lol! And then the elastic somehow twisted up inside its channel and wasn't flat anymore...

  • Just thank you!

  • totaly awesome!

  • I did the elastic thread one for one of my Chinese New Year dresses.:)

  • Thank you thank you thank you...I cut a dress recently because it was obviously from way back in the days (my great grandma gave me) with ruffles from top to bottom. This isn't our (me and my sis) kind of style but I was inspired by it the other day to make a ruffled top. So snip snip. But then I realized I could make a ruffled skirt with the last two ruffles I had cut off to make the top. I was planning to use elastic and just wig it and pray it comes out well but now I have this video!

  • Do you have any tips on shirring with elastic thread on a Brother machine? (I'm not sure what kind of machine you use/have used.) I've tried the trick with loosening one of the screws in the bobbin casing, but nothing I've tried has made it actually work.

  • hiii. i think you're amazing, did you take a class in sewing at your school or an outside separate location? And how long did it take you to learn everything? Thank you!!

  • I don't know why I'm watching this because I have nooo idea how to use my sewing machine. I do know that if I ever decide to learn, I'll be coming here to learn to make stuff. You make it all seem so easy.

  • Hey so I recently saw a long sleeve shirt that had a scoop down the back about halfway with a criss-cross on the back. Do you think it would be a good idea to use a scrunchie or just an empty casing?

  • @05ALMA20 I think an empty casing would look more delicate.

  • I don't sew but I'm watching this anyway haha but you never know. Maybe I can use this in the future

  • hehe all these elastic techniques are great i realize that i know more than what i thought :P
