  • @CoolGuyDanny182 the engine wasnt bought the way it is. i pieced it together by sourcing parts all over the place and assembled it myself. its capable of spanking new Si if you have some good seat time (drivers mod) and some good bolt on. for its full potential, get it tuned.

  • @rippedwarrior69 im sure you watched the video. the tach wasnt intended to use for the rpm. it was the shiftlight feature that i was going for to control my vtec at the time because i was young and broke. it worked for me and my brother for over 6 years.

    i got a 1990 acura integra i has a LS V-Tech engine but i was running nos of of it so i swaped it for a B 20 B not v tech like yours but the probelm is i dont have the ecu chip and its hard to find i have the chip for the old engine

    what do you suggest i do

  • @jpriki1234 lol. ls stock is non-vtec too. you put a vtec head on the ls block as you would on the b20 and make either or a vtec engine. mines a b20b if you didnt see the stamp on the engine in my video here with a vtec head making it a b20vtec.

  • You have a short ram cold air intake with no ventilation to get the cold air to the intake. You will get little or no extra power if all you are taking in is engine heat from the engine bay

  • that tach does not control your vtec. sure it may engage the solenoid using the shift light, but there is no way that it tells the ecu to switch to the vtec fuel map, so you are gonna be losing power when vtec engages.

  • @automotiveDIY its running off a 1.8 basemap and chipped no rev. ive never felt any loss in power. with this setup (motor/ecu/vtec) it went 13.6 best time. i think thats pretty awesome. my brothers crx with this ecu and vtec setup went 12.8. there arent any videos posted up on it and im sure you and others will deny it, but it happened. you have to do this yourself to understand. most people wont even go there.

  • my motor was pieced from craigslist. i spend ~ 1000 for my b20vtec+b16 trans than bought an ls block for 20 that last 3.5 years before my recent video. depends on what motor you are trying to buy. a whole or lsvtec/b20vtec. shops/online are legit, CL, you never know.

  • @YoungStatic did you get a b20 block, then find some B crank somewhere else? how did you know what bearings to get? im so confused with them, did you just get a set of greens and plastigauge them and then figure out if you need a thicker or thinner bearing?

  • just the b20 block as is. a ready to go short block. mated with a b16 head with a vtec conversion kit.. you probably just need standard size bearings and it should just go right in. plastigauge should be used for like aftermarket items or something not in standard size.

  • bro its a Frankenstein motor i put together. the setup is all over the world! the title does not say its a stock engine, it does in fact it is a b20vtec like i said, it consist of a b20b block with a b16 vtec head. buy the conversion kit to have the CRV block run the vtec head.

  • i take it up 8200rpm when i race it at the tracks. this video setup is gone as i am now lsvtec turbo.

  • get some arp rod bolts and you can take it that high. but also depends on the valve train, they also allow you to take it up to 10k and make raising power depending on what it is. i take mine to 8000 cause the power band still goes up to there before it drops.

  • yes rod bolt and valve train is highly recommend to take it more than 7500rpm. i didnt have or know about them at the time. i still it to 8200rpm. i ran an LS ecu chipped no rev limitor and my tach is my vtec controller. had it like that for 6+ years no issues. but i know have a p06 converted vtec obd1 setup.

  • Nice man, I've always been craigslist built! What head did you end up using, the pr3-1? Mine sounded the same with the so called "vtec tick". I had bad valve lash and shot lma's. Looks fun, I've only been in two b20 vtec swapped honda's and it was quite the step up over a regular b-series.
