I lived there in Upanga(Noor Mansion ) from 1961 to 1976.My father worked at Muhimbili Hospital & my mother at Shabaan Robert SS.I cant forget those wonderful sites/scenes Karimjee Gymkhana, Young Africans,Simba, Super Volcano Jazz Band , Safari trippers "Hanifa Huna " - it was rage in DSM.Kibadeni was the best football player then.Vasant Tapu the best cricketer.I really wish I could go there one day.Its my birthplace
i lived in dar es salaam for many years, i went to school there, i have family there and that place will always have a special place in my heart, i miss it soo much and i wish i could go back
I was born in Daressalaam in 1952 and lived there till 1964.I studied at Mtendeni School.I love my birthplace and would like to revisit to relive the nostalgic memories if possible.
I spent 4 months (1967 june - september) in Dar and got very precious memories.
The sea shore in Mjumema, those roasted potatoes or whatever it was they sell in the streets, the best bananas i ever tasted , the vast Jimkana club's grass fields, the monkeys visiting our yard the rich flavour Mango, Pineapple, the palm beachs and many many more very precious moments.
Wow. We'll be there in October. My first return to Tanzania since I left in 1966. I grew up in Tanzania. Nina furahi sana! Please look at my video on this site :-)

I am so excited - I lived there from 69 to 71 and next year I am planning to travel to Tanzania and see all the "old places" (I was a school girl then) It will be the travel of my life.. and I am going there with a little sister who lived there with me during that period

...Yes, I was there too...but couldn't have lived there, Very colourful and wonderful for few days but too chaotic, the traffic never ending!
Your video show a rather tranquil Dar, may be a lot of backstreets and no daladala and no noise or music....wish it were like that!!
But my memories of Dar are very fond all the same. I loved the people there! Hope to go back again this October. Was there in 2008
