Vette is a twin turbo. Turbos are well known for lagging. A blower would work better in a drag race. The vette was definitely gaining and would have only increased speed and power if the distance of teh track were increased
Don't think the driver launching the vette was trying to launch hence the cloud of white smoke. Also notice it gaining on what ever the other car was.
@rockaway Its a 1/4 Mile race its obvious the Corvette was pushing it. Reason why the Corvette is slow on acceration is because of too much torque on the rear wheels causing it to constantly wheel spin so he needs to give certain amount of power to built up before putting full throttle.
