All you need post workout is a good protein powder and simple carbs. This corn extract product is not something you take and you get ripped lol just have fruit or simple sugars from food.

Can you just mix the waxy maze, water, creatine and protein together 30 min after w.o instead of doing two seperate shakes? As of now I just blend water, a banana, have a serving of pro complex gainer and 5 grams of creatine 45 minutes after workout. Is this bad? I have a meal one hour later. Would appreciate your help. @totalhealth4life I ordered some Karbolyn when I was able to offord it and chucked that chaulky tasting waxy maize I had bought. You are 100% right about Karbolyn, it made a WORLD of difference in the taste. I went with the unflavoured and it had a pleasant vanilla after-taste to it.
ok i have a question. it is probably bodybuilders code to get that protein and carb in with in that 15-20min time window. why is that though? to drive that glucose into the muscle and drive the protein into the muscle which gets their by hitching a ride on the glucose. so i don't understand why one would NOT take a shake directly post workout to take advantage of this? i mix my waxy maze with my creatine, protein, and glutamine post workout.

Interesting video... I just did some reading on carbs and Waxy Maize post workout, and now they are suggesting consuming much less carbs with protein. I guess the "New Research" is saying to much of an insulin spike will inhibit your growth hormone production. I have also read that Waxy Maize is to slow absorbing to replenish glycogen stores quickly, and they say to use "quicker" carbs like maltodextrin or dextrose. Seems like the "rules" always change with post workout meals.

Maxy waize has actually been shown not as effective as maltodextrin and dextrose in multiple studies. If you need some solid references them I'll be more than happy to share it with you.

Don't want to sound like a hater, but you should read the only real study done with WMS on humans to date. Conducted by the US Army together with Univ of Chicago. The study conclusively proved the WMS is a great pre-, and intra-workout carb, but that maltodextrin was a significantly better PWO carb. Despite the rumors, WMS was shown to have too slow of an effect on blood sugar and insulin...taking nearly 2 hours to peak....which is what makes it a great pre-, and intra-workout carb.
Okay Rico...Final questions. Do you do a complex carb with EVERY shake or just the post workout shake? And how much time do you seperate your shakes by for optimal protien absorbtion....thanks.

Can you just mix the waxy maze, water, creatine and protein together 30 min after w.o instead of doing two seperate shakes? As of now I just blend water, a banana, have a serving of pro complex gainer and 5 grams of creatine 45 minutes after workout. Is this bad? I have a meal one hour later. Would appreciate your help. @totalhealth4life I ordered some Karbolyn when I was able to offord it and chucked that chaulky tasting waxy maize I had bought. You are 100% right about Karbolyn, it made a WORLD of difference in the taste. I went with the unflavoured and it had a pleasant vanilla after-taste to it.

ok i have a question. it is probably bodybuilders code to get that protein and carb in with in that 15-20min time window. why is that though? to drive that glucose into the muscle and drive the protein into the muscle which gets their by hitching a ride on the glucose. so i don't understand why one would NOT take a shake directly post workout to take advantage of this? i mix my waxy maze with my creatine, protein, and glutamine post workout.

Interesting video... I just did some reading on carbs and Waxy Maize post workout, and now they are suggesting consuming much less carbs with protein. I guess the "New Research" is saying to much of an insulin spike will inhibit your growth hormone production. I have also read that Waxy Maize is to slow absorbing to replenish glycogen stores quickly, and they say to use "quicker" carbs like maltodextrin or dextrose. Seems like the "rules" always change with post workout meals.

Waxi maize starch does not absorb faster than dextrose or maltodextrin. It actually absorbs slower than white bread. On the other hand Vitargo absorbs twice as fast as dextrose and maltodextrin! That's what you should be using!!!

Maxy waize has actually been shown not as effective as maltodextrin and dextrose in multiple studies. If you need some solid references them I'll be more than happy to share it with you.

Don't want to sound like a hater, but you should read the only real study done with WMS on humans to date. Conducted by the US Army together with Univ of Chicago. The study conclusively proved the WMS is a great pre-, and intra-workout carb, but that maltodextrin was a significantly better PWO carb. Despite the rumors, WMS was shown to have too slow of an effect on blood sugar and insulin...taking nearly 2 hours to peak....which is what makes it a great pre-, and intra-workout carb.
