  • There are some contest that allows shin locks and cranks. I have never seen in person or tv someone finishing anyone with it. But its a cool move. I always tell myself I'm going to do it in my next class but then forget. Lol

  • i thinks its stupid in bjj if ur not allowed to do leg locks if ur a white belt i think u got to use what works for u and not fight somebody else fight thats jus my opinion u cant limit ur self to one style

  • It's not stupid, there's many leg locks and knee bars that you really don't feel pain until it's too late and that person's body is physically damaged and need to have knee or ankle surgury. Having a white belt who knows a leg lock and a white belt who doesn't is dangerous, because like I said, it won't hurt till it's too late, and the white belt that doesn't know that move is not gonna tap out cause he won't know he's in a lock since there's no pain, then when there IS pain, it's serious.

  • poor guy xd

  • I am a BJJ Blue Belt, but I LOVE catch wrestling. I would love to use this as a pass for Gi or No Gi. Wow, my eyes have been opened!

  • @legendof You wouldn't even need to pass because the fight would be done. I use this all the time, especially when someone tries butterfly guard. When you apply this properly the pain is so bad they don't want to counter they just tap.

  • good video

  • <<< doing catch wrestling all the way in hawaii.. did any body ever enter the NAGA?

  • I do agree with hedges 1, when I grapple with bjj guys and I do add some sambo and catchwrestling into my game they do complain. But it's do to their style of combat. In the street you need a combination of all to finish your opponent fast if you got to.Years ago I seen a bjj black belt who could had use a chin crank, instead got knock out by a street fighter. Sometimes rules are meant to be broken

  • @powertoachieve Can't argue with that. You should try and pick up new techniques wherever you go, Catch can offer a lot of that BJJ can't. I've found that a lot of BJJ guys complain about this and that, but in the street there's no such thing as cheating.

  • i recently purchased the lost art of hooking and oh man it helps me alot i always roll wit bjj guys and they seem to get mad when i pull off a catch style leg lock or a neck crank they tell me its cheating wtf how is it cheating they even told me a standing ankle lock is cheating

  • @hedges1 In most good BJJ schools anyone below purple belt- and often brown belt- is not usually allowed to use tendon locks on the legs. This is because lack of experience by the person using them can very easily lead to long term damage, as can the naivety of the person being locked if he taps too late. It's a safety concern, and a legitimate one. A tear in ligaments in either the ankle or knee can have long term, even permanent consequences.

  • Yes the thing is to is that Catch Wrestling is ment not to hook, a hook is specific and different from a submission. HOOKS basically make an opponent not step back on the mat for several weeks, months, or not at all again. Im a huge BJJ fan but these moves in Catch have their place especially on the street.

  • LOL 3:23--> he does look like he's in pain. he's like "wtf did i get myself into". "disect the moves move by move. that's a great way to put it. :>

  • fat more like me jajaja

  • Does it explian how to do the actual submissions anymore because it seems to have great instructions but not explaining what hes actually doing to get the submission in other videos as well like where to grip the foot if so I will get this DVD

  • @403766 if you mean setting up how to get to a submission, yes he is did that too. Tony in a very detailed manner how to get the submission and how to set it up

  • man!that dude looks like hes in alot of pain.lmao

  • 03:40 - "Just why did I go for the year membership?"

  • Your partner in this viv is clearly not a wrestler on jj guy, I feel kind of bad for the pain your putting him through.... Pretty different techniques though definetly a new perspective I'll have to try it .. good stuff

  • @TheAtomicFighter Bruce was a Div II wrestler and later a college wrestling coach. On some of Cecchine's other videos, Bruce shows takedowns, pummeling, etc.

  • This move is great i did this to some cocky ass dude who thought he was the best grappler ever as soon as i hit this move he tapped and he walked away limping ever since that day he never grappled lol

  • @hedges1 thats awesome but why would he quit man what a retard...he should of learned from that experience and become a better grappler
