does ur windows vista have Fences? i have Fences on my widnows 7 enterprise 32bit celeron 450 2.99GHZ 2GB ram mac runs GREAT on virtual PCs but ive never figured out how to do that fully on my PC yet ._. if anyone can help me my aim is imabillionarexd4@aol.com ill be on at most likely 2 PM
I attempted a quad-boot system once with Vista, XP Home, Ubuntu, and Solaris. Rather than using GRUB, I installed each OS separately with only 1 hard drive in at a time. I had 4 hard drives, so this method made it quite easy. To choose an OS, I would go into BIOS when booting and choose the hard drive number of the OS I wanted to boot. It was considerably easier than working with a boot loader. Due to my crappy motherboard and Solaris being picky, I was only able to get 3 to work at a time.
@skifischer I completely understand. I feel it would have been more difficult if I didn't have the same number of drives as operating systems. The sad thing is, I liquidated that system later on, so I ended up with 4 80GB hard drives that I have no use for. :-( I bought an external case for one of them, so I can use it as a plug 'n' play disk, but the other 3 are sitting unused.
Hii My Name is Luis i just have a few question plz help me out ...
can sumone plzz help me im having problems with the ps3 i dont have default settings i have the slim ps3 version 3.15 can sumone plz help me out ill pay if sumone wanna come over n do it for me its gettin me mad i tryed burning the dvd-r but it does not load when i put it in the ps3 plzzzzz sumone plz help me out thank you ....
GParted is the tool I use to modify partitions. Works relatively well, it's a Live CD. I've had some slight trouble with HFS+ partitions with it, though, so use caution. Google it for info.
Alternatively, you could just back up your data (probably the safest thing to do, even if you use GParted - or any other partitioning tool - because mucking with partitions can screw up a lot of things if done incorrectly).
one thing im confused about. Do you have to set up grub or does grub detect the mac osx partition by default. The grub legacy bootloader only detects booting into FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, GNU/Linux. The windows OS's and OS/2 are supported through a chain-loading function. So... should mac even be possible to boot with it?
You need to manually configure grub to work with it, if you read the instructions on my website provided in the description there are details about setting up grub. You'll need to edit the config file under ubuntu/bsd or whatever you choose to setup grub on.
Nice vid. I'll be doing the same shortly, though throwing XP in the mix. Curious what your motivations were for running so many OSes (Mine being primarily 'Because I can'), and which OS you're spending most of your time in (OSx86 I'll guess since it is your default)...
If you install this on a separate hard drive you shouldn't have any problems. You can always specify in your bios which drive you want to boot from. (check my tutorial in video info)
you could always just reinstall the grub bootloader after you install mac on a new partition. thats what im going to do. I have xp, vista, ubuntu, and an 50 gig NTFS partition. I'll reformat that to mac extended and install mac on it, then reinstall the bootloader. In theory, it should work.
did you do this video rather than being at a party at your flat?

Cool video. It inspired me to do a triple boot with iAtkos v5i + Ubuntu + Vista, however, I did get my internet and sound working natively.

Not a computer expert, but it sounds like it's something that has to do with 3 OS partition booting up at the same time. Am I right?

Be sure to format your partition as MBR, but also make sure when you got to "customize" that you set the EFI bios to MBR as well.
Hope it helps
