They have no idea, try knowing your cat was poisened by neighbours deliberatley and trying to comfort said cat as he was frothing at the mouth and convulsing as you drive to an emergency vets. It is funny as hell. But I know why he is doing it. He wants to sleep and you are annoying him. Seems really tired. My cat did that once... He played the whole night through and I could not sleep. Guess what he tried to do the next morning? Sleep... I thought bugger... so I kept him awake. He started meowing like that after a while :P. He slept through the next night :P
