  • Try it on the cembalo and you will never play it legato again :-) When you play the prelude in that upspeeded version then dont use pedal at all. And remember that the upper and the lower tones 1st, 2nd, 3rd. and 4th beat in the prelude should be pointed out. The thing with the fugue is that you have to bear in mind that the theme should be recognized throughout the hole play. When the theme is played for the first time in your left hand then ease of in your right hand. Otherwise it will drown.

  • you gradually increase tempo in the prelude.

  • Actually, I really like it.

  • You got every one of those notes, it seemed. But you seemed to play it more like Chopin than Bach, or at least, how I imagine Bach should be played. EACH of the voices is important, not just the top voice. Each voice is a solo. But it was fun to hear. Great music.

  • your technique and phrasing are good, but i really think it would help if you eased off the pedal a little. i'm not personally entirely opposed to pedaling bach, but it just sounds a bit murky.

  • I think the murkiness of the sounds comes from two things: the room I recorded in, and the fact that I'm no recording engineer. I actually only used the pedal a very little bit to connect some jumps between voices. But thanks for the comment. I always appreciate thoughtful feedback. :)

  • Very nice playing. (Can't say the same for the audio or the video, alas.)

  • I really like the fugue! although, I prefer to play it more staccato. 5 stars : )
